Help Us Harvest Willow & Plant New Cuttings in Northern, British Columbia! 🌱


The experience

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist in harvesting basketry willow and planting new cuttings on a beautiful new plot in rural Northern British Columbia. This is an outdoor, hands-on opportunity where you’ll help with setting up fencing, installing water lines, and working in nature as we develop a new area for cultivation.


What you offer

24 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.


What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.


Requirements

Beginner English or Beginner Dutch

Over 18 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Hi! So we, Jeremy and Anneh, live in Northern BC. We have a small farm. Mostly Anneh, is a basket weaver and growing her own materials for this on the Willow farm, and springtime is harvest and replanting time!We also have carpentry projects and the fencing of multiple gardens going on and some landscaping, if anybody is into website building this can also be part of the work contributed!
No experience necessary, we work alongside to show you how it works!


Activities & Shift

We are looking for help with harvesting, sorting and grading of basketry willow( april/may)as well as the replanting of a large new willow plot thus spring( may/june)
This will also be great learning for people interested in having their own willow plot one day!
Optional basketry lessons.
We also have carpentry, fencing and landscaping jobs available.
Shifts are 4 days of the week from 9-12/1-4, on those days we have lunch and dinner for you. The accommodation has cooking facilities on days off you can do your own meals, or we can see if you wanna join for dinners, pretty flexible. Your own breakfasts are recommended.
We live out of town, however have bikes for you to use, a bus stop close by for mo-wed-fri busses. And can coordinate rides with us at times.
We live right by the river and have lots of walking trails around. Please note we have no wifi, but excellent cell service.


Rules

We live a quiet life style and there is no partying, no drugs or excessive alcohol consumption on the property.
No unconsulted overnight guests.
