Dar Nomads was the most off-grid experience I've ever had! I got to understand the local culture much more deeply. The atmosphere is peaceful, there's a lot of time to read, journal, play cards or simply connect with volunteers and locals. Mustafa is responsible of cooking for the volunteers and has the kindest heart! I enjoy speaking with him and during my stay he was very flexible with the work. I also met some of his friends, who were equally kind and often joined us in the evenings. Thank you so much for making me feel so accepted and appreciated in your home. Lots of Love!

We had such a peaceful stay here. Mustafa took great care of us, and cooked the best meals. Walking through the desert with the 4 dogs was the most memorable part. We played music, danced, and cards at night with locals who came to hang out. You can help out in different ways depending on how long you're there & what skills you have - we only stayed a few days so we mostly read our books, learned some Arabic, and took long sunset walks. Highly recommend to learn more about local culture! As a note: be prepared for cold bucket showers & squat toilet. It worked well for us :)

Thank you so much, Zahabiya

It was truly a pleasure hosting you and Yunis your good energy and curiosity brought such warmth to Dar Nomad. We’re happy you felt the spirit of the desert and enjoyed the simplicity of nomad life.

You’re always welcome back next time, we’ll have more music, more stars, and maybe even better card players waiting for a rematch

The home is a very special place. The people are genuine, kind and welcoming. Being a part of this community is a nourishing experience, and the peace found in this unique place is medicine for the soul. There are many opportunities to learn about local culture, from food preparation, to learning new Arabic words, to music, to inspiring conversations with people from the area. 10/10 recommend!

I had the chance to stay a week in the home. This place is really unique, the people are amazing, the energy and global atmosphere in the home is also very special. Since the first minutes to the last second there, I felt immediately like home, even tho the culture is very different and the place is thousands of kilometers away from home. I really hope I will get chance to go back one day and enjoy again the quite and slow life in the desert 😊

Staying at the home has really been an amazing experience. Anyone wishing to experience a different lifestyle and see what it's like to live in the desert should volunteer here. It is a truly peaceful and welcoming place, the hosts really care about their guests and will include you in their everyday lives, meeting friends, going to the market, playing music… Even the animals welcomes you with open arms. It is the perfect place to learn more about the local culture, history and mindset while having fun and laughing a lot Bonus points for the food, chef Hamza is a really good cook !

I had an amazing 30day stay at the home The hosts were friendly and caring and the focus was on learning and intercultural exchange instead of work Still, I think it's important to mention that the WP page the home a bit misleading: Not all benefits match WPs description. It has nothing to do with Yoga, the costs of the discounted/free tours were a little strange, and most of the pictures are taken during the trips and suggest dunes, but you'll only see those during the trips You should also be prepared for squatting toilets and cold bucket showers ExpectingThoseInaccuraciesYoullHaveaGreatTrip:)

You stayed 30 days that says a lot. Life here is simple, raw, and real. Not for comfort seekers, but soul searchers. So no hard feelings but next time, check your mindset before you check the boxes. If you ever return, come with heart open, not just eyes. You’ll still be welcome.

Peace & dust,

Stading at the home was a very interesting experience (in a good way). The hosts are very welcoming and though there sometimes are language barriers they can still make you feel at home. It the home definitely not to much work so you have a lot of time and i would recommend having a project you're working on or bringing a good book, but in the evening you can also spend a lot of time with the hosts and their friends. The Tajine was always great. It the home a very good place to unwind from stress, meet locals, eat good food and learn a new way of life.

Aaron,
You put it beautifully Dar Nomad isn’t just a place, it’s a pause button on life. Thanks for flowing with our slow rhythm, our broken languages, and our full tajines. Glad the desert gave you space, stories, and serenity. Come back any time, brother the fire and tea wait for you.

My experience at the home was unforgettable. From start to end Mohammed, Mbarak, Hamza, and Mohammed were hospitable and welcoming. It the home intimidating to come all the way out to the desert alone as a woman and live with men but it was such a good experience and I felt safe with them as soon as I arrived. The meals are traditional and always bustinggggg. The shower the home a bucket and water, you can boil if you need. The place the home a simple mud house but quite literally the most memorable volunteer experience I've had :) thank you lovelies!!

The home definitely a unique experience. You get a real taste of how people actually live in a small village of Morocco. During the course of the day after having worked for no more than 2/2:30 hours there the home not much to do so I would recommend going with other volunteers or a friend. Its a good place to relax but dont expect extremely active days. The hosts were very nice the place had no running water but 2 large tanks and kept quite clean. The village the home very rural small and charming, the stars are night are amazing and the experience overall the home definetly worth a try

Spent an unforgettable week at the home with two friends. The hosts were amazing, welcoming us with music and food, making us feel right at home (which the home a plus when you arrive at night). While the living conditions are basic (think a hole-in-the-floor toilet and bucket showers), the experience was very unique and fun. We connected with travellers and locals, gaining insight into the culture, and even picking up some basic Arabic. The work was light (about 3 hours a day) and varied, from building mud walls and stone pathways, to cooking Moroccan dishes. I hope to return someday!
