The experience

Accommodation in a caravan. Bathroom outside with hot shower at all hours. 3 meals a day. Free laundry service. Free WiFi. Bicycles available. Farm certified in organic farming with swimming pool. Located in Alto Minho, in the Peneda-Gerês Natural Park.
We are looking for 1 person, 1 couple or 2 friends to work 4 hours a day, 6 days a week.
We speak Pt, Ing, Spanish and Fr.


What you offer

24 hours of help per week

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens


What you get

1 day off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent English or Fluent Portuguese

Between 25 and 40 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Peneda Ecofarm (Quinta Ecológica da Peneda) is primarily dedicated to organic farming, integrating concepts of permaculture and regenerative agriculture. More than producing organic food while reducing damage to the environment, we intend to reverse the damage through the adoption of regenerative practices.

Activities & Shift

Outdoor work: chop & drop, making compost piles, building irrigation systems, propagating plants, installing living hedges, cleaning weeds around trees, irrigation systems, creating animal shelters, weed control, planting in the vegetable garden and structures for plants.

Breakfast in the Kitchen at 8:30 am. Work with direct supervision from 9:00 to 10:30. Snack in the field or in the kitchen at 10:30. Work (unsupervised) from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. Bath 1:00 pm (whenever necessary). Lunch 1:15 pm – 2:15 pm. Free time. Dinner: 8pm-9:30pm. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, with Mondays being free. It can be adjusted depending on the weather conditions or specific needs of the Farm (arranged in advance).
