Support underprivileged kids while immersing in Peruvian culture

We volunteered for 1 week which was way too short! Bernabe and Ingrid run a really good sociable community charity. My husband Andy and I helped in the Casa project, an after school club for children aged 6-12 (approx). The children were so loving, so warm, funny and cheeky, well mannered and when our short week came to an end we were showered with lovely heart warming messages which made us choke. We lived in the volunteering house with the other volunteers and we all got on and went on a day trip and a night out together. I can truly recommend this charity and hope to go back one day.

This was my first experience with world packers! Volunteering with the organization was an amazing experience. Bernabé and Ingrid are fully committed to the organization and are fully engaged in its direct projects of as well as partnering up with other community projects. I worked alongside volunteers for a week and look forward to my next volunteer opportunity with the organization to be for a month. The children I worked with at Projecto Casa are vibrant, appreciative and loving. They have forever left a loving imprint in my heart!

I can't say enough "thank you" for our amazing hosts or should I say my Peruvian family in Huancayo---- Ingrid and Bernabe, who are extremely welcoming, loving, and caring for every volunteer(and human being in general). This is my first volunteering experience, and I'm grateful that I was able to connect with this wonderful organization, and of course, the big hearted people in this organization. During the past one month, I was soaking in so many loving and precious connections that I will be forever grateful with.(I don't really speak Spanish. But it's okay, love transcends any languages :)

Sihan is a person with many qualities, extremely cheerful, very responsible, she got involved in different projects and worked very well on all of them, very dedicated, kind, tender and had a very good relationship with the team and group of volunteers at the residence. My partner and I had the most incredible 2 weeks with the organization. We worked each morning with adults and children with disabilities, and each afternoon in an after-school program with children in a small village. The hosts Bernabe & Ingred were incredibly welcoming and warm, always answering any questions and ensuring we were happy with the work we were doing. The local volunteers we worked with during the day, Abel & Eloiza were so patient and understanding and are such generous people who work extremely hard. We felt so welcomed, and this humbling experience will stay in our hearts forever.

Kate and Oliver are super cheerful people, willing to give their all for others. Very affectionate and respectful. Everyone who helped was very grateful and our team too. They have been very helpful in the projects they have helped.
They also adapted very easily to the Peruvian culture (Huancayo).

Tuve la oportunidad de participar en 2 proyectos: en el de madres jóvenes y el Proyecto Casa. En ambos, apoyé como voluntaria: en el primero realizando actividades recreativas, pintando un mural, juegos con los bebés y otras activiadades de apoyo. En el Proyecto Casa, pude apoyar en sus tareas a los niños además de realizar juegos. Participar en ambos proyectos fue una experiencia increíble que recomiendo a otros voluntarios. Agradezco a Bernabe, Ingrid y Alvaro por su apoyo durante mi estadía en Huancayo, siempre muy atentos y con excelente disposición en ayudarme en todo.

Me encantó mi tiempo en la organización! Bernabé y Ingrid son anfitriones increíbles y realmente hicieron que se sintiera como un hogar lejos de casa. Mi experiencia con los otros voluntarios también fue genial y nos formamos amistades y conexiones muy fuertes. Los proyectos que están construyendo con la fundación son increíblemente importantes a las comunidades que sirven. En solo dos semanas, el proyecto que se llama “proyecto casa” creció desde 6 niños hasta 22 niños. Realmente recomiendo ser voluntari@ aquí.
