The experience

We are a Costa Rican family living in one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, the Osa Peninsula.
We have a beautiful project that consists of apartments, a house and a biological station located in the forest.
We need to move because our children are at school, we are looking for one or two people who can help us execute our project.
The main activities are customer service, cleaning, gardening and helping with our research projects.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent English or Intermediate Spanish

Between 22 and 50 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers


What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

The volunteer must live in the place and make sure that everything is good, he must attend to the clients and help them if required.
You must move from the apartments to the Biological Station which are located on separate properties.
It is important to adapt to the local culture and be prepared for intense climates and the forest where insects and some dangerous animals are common.


Activities & Shift

Always keep the place clean, prepare rooms for customers, welcome and make customers feel welcome, organize transfers or tours, gardening work and trail maintenance. All activities will be carried out in coordination with Rebeca virtually and with Allan physically at the biological station.

Entry of unauthorized persons to any of the project sites is prohibited.
Alcohol, drugs, noise and parties are prohibited on site
Each volunteer is responsible for their personal expenses, only room and basic food are offered.
Depending on the interest and performance of the volunteer, some financial remuneration could be given.
