Tropical Agroforestry & Food Forest Manager
The experience
We are looking for agroforestry, food forest or permaculture enthusiasts that want to get a lot of experience in creating and maintaining tropical edible productive agroforestry food systems. This would start after 2 weeks as a general volunteer.
This person should be self-managed and proactive rather than reactive, taking initiative to work on whatever is needed in this area.

Description:
We ask for 350 thai baht per night contribution. For interns those that stay longer then three months the fee goes down to 300 Thai. Those that commit after the internship for one year the you can become member and you stay for free. This contribution helps to run the community, pay for permanent local staff, pay for food and maintenance of facilities and pay basic running cost like electricity & internet. Your contribution is much valued.

Program Details
Tropical Agroforestry manager will help on Gaia Ashram land to optimize our agroforestry & food forest systems:
-Maintenance of existing agroforestry systems and food forest (mulching, pruning, adding appropriate species.)
-Sharing knowledge with volunteers and potentially teaching in our courses.
-Progressing & developing the food forest and agroforestry system to abundance.
-Optimizing harvesting and processing of the natural products for Gaia Ashram.
-Coordinating with Natural Product Manager.
-Co-Design new land
-Research and experimenting uses of our production plants and finding new species that we can add into our vast array of forest diversity with a focus on use.
Activities & Shift
Agroforestry and food forest managers will join the general Gaia volunteer routine for the first weeks:

For this position we prefer people with permaculture/agroforestry/forest/farming management experience. The agroforestry manager will help progress our current agricultural agroforestry towards abundance and this requires a more longer term commitment.
We prefer a minimum of three months internship commitment. If it works & you want to stay longer at Gaia Ashram there is the potential of becoming a community member which require a 1 year commitment after the internship.
