This was our first volunteering experience and it exceeded all our expectations. The experience was amazing from start to finish. Steve and Renée are truly wonderful people — they welcomed us with so much kindness and treated us like family from day one. The environment is warm, respectful, and welcoming, which made us feel very comfortable and happy throughout our stay. We are very grateful for everything and would definitely recommend this experience to other travelers.

I volunteered at the guest house for two months and had a wonderful experience. I met amazing volunteers, had great conversations with guests, and explored Eastbourne and its surroundings — a lovely, well-connected area. The hotel was cozy and comfortable. I stayed in a shared room for four and had full access to the common areas and the kitchen. Weekly family dinners were a nice way to bond with the team. While I was there, the hosts were often away due to travel, so communication and organization were a bit different, but overall, the experience was positive, and I'd recommend it.

I had a lovely time volunteering here! I enjoyed the family dinners, having breakfast made for me, taking their sweet dog for walks, and working on reception to greet guests, it was nice to see my name mentioned in some Booking.com reviews. The other volunteers were great company, and it's a very social place. As it's family-run, the routine can be quite fluid at times, so flexibility really helps when lending a hand. Overall, a warm and memorable experience I'm grateful for!

What an amazing time I had at the guest house! Steve and Renee are incredible hosts, I felt very welcomed. They were very flexible with work hours and I could apply my skills and give them suggestions on what I was doing. My time there couldn't be any better. And also, CK is the cherry on top of this experience. Hope to see them again soon! Thank you for everything ♥️

Eastbourne feels like a movie town. It's beautiful and cozy, and we have everything we need right here (and even a bit more). There are so many ways to have fun, and Brighton is also very close, which allows us to explore even more. Working hours are respected, and we actually do the tasks described in the position. Renee and Steve are very kind and truly include us in the guest house team/family. I'm grateful for all the family dinners, events and moments we shared together. I made friends that I'll always carry in my heart (and yes, that includes CK haha)

Eastbourne is such a beautiful place, and the guest house was a great location to experience it all. The accommodation was great, and it is a very good place for remote workers. I had lots of fun during my stay and I recommend this place to others.

I couldn't choose a better place for my first volunteer experience. It was like living amazing days with family. I made friends for life, grew as a person, and practiced my English every day. I arrived with difficulty, but everyone was very patient and calm talking to me. I really recommend it to everyone! Best experience of my life, it changed my view of the world, and I'm going back to Brazil very thankful for everything! I will miss everyone, especially CK, the king of the house! I hope to meet everyone again someday! 💚💛💙

Despite coming at a bad time as an emergency replacement situation we made the best out of it. Steve is a jolly guy. It would have been nice to bring my culinary creativity to life . Communication and expectations of the cook needs to be better defined. Seaside amazing ,Lounge comfy, Family dinners were fun. CK :) omg this puppy ( the pup of world peace ) is the cutest emotional support dog ever !!eating up all the treats and bringing smiles to everyone 🐶. If you cook make sure you not Gordon Ramsey xD chef style have a Jamie Oliver vibe. Steve will train you to be sensei egg maker 🥚🍳

This was my first time volunteering through Worldpackers and I had a beautiful time! the guest house is full of life and color—perfect for creatives. I exchanged my skills as a designer and worked on their website and branding. While there were some communication challenges, the experience helped me grow. I met amazing people and even started working with a friend of the hosts. Also, it's impossible not to fall in love with CK—I already miss him! Thanks, Steve and Renee, for the opportunity!

Steve and Renee are the best hosts one can ask for! They allowed me space for trial and error so I ended up creating art I wouldn't deem possible. You'll feel valued and listened to. You definitely become a part of the family; which consists their lovely sons, amazing Maria and adorable CK. The hours are respected and you get opportunities to work in various fields which is so much fun. The location is perfect: close to London and Sussex cities. Sharing a cozy room with lovely volunteers was beautiful. You might learn a new language! Love to the guest house family and hope to see you again.🩷
