Program Details

As a team, you will work with the Karen people and our construction staff to help install a complete water system. You will see the whole project through right from laying the pipes to turning on the tap the first time.
We will then organise a three-day trek through the surrounding forests after you have completed the water project. This will give you the opportunity to see other villages and beautiful Thai landscapes. It is optional but highly recommended, and offered at no additional cost. It is not a commercial route, and you will get to discover untouched nature and communities within a part of Thailand that visitors rarely see.

Activities & Shift

Overall, you will spend up to three weeks installing the water system and three days trekking, all led by our Karen team. During this time, you will stay in a volunteer house within your community allowing you to get stuck in to all aspects of village life.

Rules

The Karen people have certain practices and ways of life - just as we do - that you should be aware of in order not to offend or upset. Obviously being courteous and considerate at all times is essential, and through spending time with the villagers you will better understand their lifestyle and habits.
