The experience

You will need to take care of the house. You will not be alone probably another 1 or 2 volunteers too. Also we need you to walk the dogs and feed them along the cats and maintain the house and garden clean. You can contact us in whatever language you prefer.

We have had some not so favorable reviews lately. However, the individual responsible for managing the programme will no longer be in charge. I (Jan) will be assuming responsibility on site.

Program Details

People come here and complain about many things, but we offer you a room that is rented for 40-50 USD on Airbnb each day. That is the same as a monthly minimum wage in Latin America counting a 2 weeks period, and you only have to work a few hours a day in a flexible schedule. You just need to come with the right attitude! We have colibries, sloths and monkeys in the garden, and there is a waterfall in the jungle that is a few kilometres away, as well as the Caribbean Sea. Nobody will make you happy but yourself!

Activities & Shift

We have three dogs and two cats, but we mostly just take care of the garden and tidy the house. It's nothing too difficult.

Rules

HOUSE RULES

As there are several people from different cultures and walk of life, temporarily living together, it is important to keep certain rules in the house. We thank you for the hard work, we appreciate your effort. Some of the rules might sound too harsh, but unfortunately all below is based on past experiences.

- Our house is not to be used as a catapult to stay free while going to parties in Puerto Viejo. You are expected to come home around 10pm or spend the night in a hotel and come back in the morning, not during the night as the dogs will wake everyone up. We also want you to be able to attend your volunteer duties with a clear mind and after a good night's sleep, without being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or suffering from their effects. Working under these conditions can be dangerous for you and others.

The rest of the rules will be forwarded when you apply.
