The experience

This position requires helping around the surf camp on general work duties/cleaning/gardening/hosting while performing duties as a surf instructor as needed. This is based on guest load and needs which varies by time of year. Surfboards are available and included in the guests lesson. A percentage fee is paid for each lesson. There is no pay for general work duties, just room/food.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Requirements

Intermediate English or Intermediate Spanish

Over 20 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

When guests want to book surf lessons this individual would be available to schedule and coordinate surf lessons with the guest/s. When not teaching surf lessons this individual would be required to perform other task as needed in the operation of the surf camp.


Activities & Shift

Shifts vary based on guests loads and needs, though our general operating hours are 6am to 8pm. Sometimes guests like to stay up late, mostly, because of the surf oriented activities the guests are early to bed and early to rise. Duties may involve opening and closing, making coffee, serving food, clearing plates, delivering drink, fresh towels, light cleaning, helping guests with anything they might need within reason.


Rules

Individual must remain professional at all times. No drinking during work hours, no over intoxication in front of guests. No drugs. Please keep your behavior commensurate with the type of guest you are hosting (ability to read guests is a must)
