I loved my time at Almanik, everyone was so friendly from the people staying to the other volunteers and staff/owner. Work was relaxed, location is great, days were calm yet fun. I would definitely recommend ❤️

Perfect place to befriend locals and other people from Suramérica, therefore perfect to learn/practice Spanish : I didn't speak it at my arrival and I can easily talk to anybody about various subjects now. The team is great and easy, likes to show around the culture and Medellin. The job at the reception is easy but with some responsibilities too, and let you time to visit the city. I spent a month there but could have stayed once more easily.

Great location, friendly team, hostel is small sweet and clean! In a great location close to the metro, cafes, gyms and malls! We had movie nights and dinners out, salsa classes. It was great experiance in Medellin, work was easy and quick a few hours of cleaning in the morning then had the whole day and night to myself

My experiences at the hostel and Area 51 Hostel were amazing. The work is very easy, as you aren't typically dealing with check-ins during the night shift. For the most part, I spent most of my shifts hanging out with guests or watching Netflix. The location is amazing, as it is super close to the metro and LA 70, one of the biggest party areas in the city. Andres and Paula were very flexible hosts and helpful. I would definitely recommend volunteering here to anyone planning on coming to Medellin.

The host Andres was great, he always made me feel welcome and was very understanding with my class schedules. He was very proactive about meetings, making sure you understand what is expected of you, and telling you what to do/how to do better if needed. There was a bed bug problem during the middle of my stay and he shut down the hostel for two days and we all helped fumigate the rooms by taking apart the beds to get into the cracks and taking out all the mattresses. At the end of my stay, I had exams with my school program and Andres stayed in one night to take a shift!

With pleasure I recommend the experience at the hostel. The job is to be at the reception for five hours each night and it wasn't hard. The location of the hostel is perfect: the main street is full of life until 3/4 am, at the same time the area is safe, there are always new customers of different nationalities and it's simple to make new friends. Gracias por todo Andres, Paula, Manu y Kevin ♥️🍱

It was good hostel to meet with local traveler and international traveller. That means you can practice both English and Spanish. They are really kind and helpful to what i want! You will get typical Colombian home-made lunch most of the day which i liked a lot. So, you will get everything what you want to expect to get by volunteering in this hostel! Also, the hostel was next to the party street for local ppl called la 70. so you can go to party if you want! To note that, You will da night work from 2 am to 7 am if you are alone and 10pm to 3 pm or 3 pm to 8 am if you are two volunteers.

Volunteering at the hostel was a great experience. The location in Medellin is fantastic. Walking distance from Carrera 70 which is the connecting street near the hostel and is filled with local bars and great resaraunts along with street vendors. It is a small hostel but yet it is very new and kept very clean. Paola and Andres are the hard-working owners of the establishment and da great job making you feel at home whether being a volunteer or guest in which I have the oppotunity to receive their hospitiality on both ends. Highly recomend this hostel as a volunteer or guest.
