Program Details

We’re a South African family that have lived in Mozambique since 2017. A few years ago, we petitioned and successfully zoned a Marine Protected Area in front of our property on the Indian Ocean. We’re looking for volunteers who can help us maintain and grow the MPA by raising awareness about it through social media. We would like volunteers to assist with diving/snorkeling, coral planting, reef survey activities and help us generate fundraising through social media by creating promotional videos for our project. We have various community projects, one of which is to breed rabbits, so apart from diving/snorkeling and assisting in the MPA we need volunteers to help us take care of the rabbits, build cages and teach locals to set up sustainable breeding systems. There are lots of daily tasks volunteers can assist with, like teaching at the small school on our property and planting herbs.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers will be expected to work around 6 hours per day, and get 2 days per week off to relax and explore. Depending on what type of work volunteers are expected to do, we can arrange a schedule so that volunteers know when is the best time for them to do work and when they can be free to have time off.
