Program Details
We would love to have hosts able to help for random tasks in and around the house, that we can adjust to your skills: building furniture, organising the inside, maintaining and creating gardens, planting trees, house cleaning, cooking, entertain kid...
We are willing to have you feeling part of the family, share meals and other fun activities if you wish.
We are looking are hosting guest for a minimum 3 weeks to have time to learn from each others and complete projects together. We will accept couples only if we have big project planned so please don't be offended if we decline because of that.
Please note, we live 3.5h north of Auckland. We can pick you up from Whangarei town
that you can reach with AirNewZealand (domestic flights) or by bus (Intercity).
Activities & Shift
Activities vary with the projects list, weather and priorities but we will always make sure you are comfortable with the tasks.
Both of us are working full time from home on weekdays (and our toddler goes to day care) so during the day you might be on your own to run tasks or just do whatever you want. Because of that we think it is better to work with your during the weekend and keep your 2 days off during the week. We are usually available to work and share activities with you in the evening and on the weekend.
Rules
As with all families, we have house rules. Maybe as a French family, it is possible we have different rules than you might be used to. But we don't think we are too weird ;)
Foundation is about respect and communication.
An important moment for us is around meal time, from cooking to washing dishes, which is shared with everyone at home, so we expect you to be happy to be involved in that.
You will have your own bedroom, bathroom and toilet. That will be your little private place. Naturally, you will be in charge of keeping it clean.
We don't go to town every day, that means we carefully plan our groceries and other appointments to minimise driving.
Please note, we are running on rainwater, so we will ask you to be conscious of water use, mainly around showers.
