The experience
Be a part of the Medical Volunteering Program in Ghana to work along with doctors, nurses and local staff in hospitals and community clinics in and hospitals in Ghana. Volunteer tasks are determined depending on the volunteer’s qualifications, experience, and knowledge. Qualified doctors and nurses can carry full day-to-day treatment of various diseases.
What you offer
30 hours of help per week
Cooking:
Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.
Child Care:
Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.
Elderly Care:
Assisting and spending time with the elderly.
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Description:
Volunteers contribute USD $ 30 per day. This covers their full board accommodation and meals, drinking water, towels, picking up and dropping on arrival and departure from Kotoka International Airport, Shower and Western Toilet, Certificate and recommendation letter at the end of the program.

You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Team Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

You can use our laundry room freely.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Program Details
Medical Professionals can assist doctors and nurses in their work and observe their work to gain knowledge and experience. Qualified medical volunteers, work in the areas of maternal health, mental health, surgery, laboratories, counseling, and testing. This program is particularly suited for those volunteers who are interested in health issues and doing ‘hands-on’ clinical work. Volunteers work for around 6 hrs a day for 5 days a week. Volunteers' schedule is flexible and can vary depending on the needs of the placement.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities
o Qualified doctors and nurses can carry full day to day treatment of various diseases.
o Medical professionals can assist the doctors and nurses in their work and observe their work to gain knowledge and experience.
o Qualified medical volunteers work in the areas of maternal health, mental health, surgery, laboratories, counseling and testing. Wound dressing under direct supervision of nursing staff.
o Blood pressure, pulse and temperature measurements (if competent).
o Assist patients with activities such as getting them from one service point to another.
o Weighing patients, holding babies/adults to be weighed.
o General assistance to the medical staff wherever required, and wherever experience and expertise allow.
