The experience

We are looking to engage volunteers in meaningful activities to empower rural children. It is two way learning journey both for the volunteers and for the children. The focus of the volunteering will be on teaching English, storytelling, gender equality-based sessions, etc. This will be based on the skill set of volunteers and on need of the organisation. Volunteer can choose the project based on their interest areas.


What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 200 One time

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: Volunteers contribute $200 towards their accommodation, food, travel and other facilities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 60 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Experience living rural life and experience local culture of Haryana (India)
Learn Hindi language
Enjoy local food, nature and greenery

Activities & Shift

Typical day will be designed in consultation with the volunteer. However, volunteer will have to give at least 6 hours a day and 5 days a week. Volunteer will have to spend some time in organization's office in the urban space. Most of the time volunteer will be based in village schools where they will be working with the children.
