Hugo is amazing and Homun is great. The farm is a 10 minute walk from several popular cenotes. It's such a worry free life. I came during low season and don't speak much Spanish, so being the only non-hispanic volunteer was a little isolating, so I asked to leave early and it was totally chill with Hugo. But I did really like the time I spent there and if there had been more volunteers, I could have stayed a long time.

Staying at Hugo's in his farm was an incredible first experience as a volunteer. If you are going to volunteer here you must now that you are going to work hard, you are going to get dirty, but in the end this is what makes it so real and interesting. Hugo is kind and respectful to others, and he really tries to include you in all types of activites. The farm is growing and being part of it felt really good.

I recommend the volunteer, Hugo is a really nice and easy going guy. You can learn a lot about gardening and taking care of animals, it was a real pleasure to help on the farm with those amazing people around

Hugo is a very nice person, showed us lots of cenotes, which was cool experience also with other volunteers :) Work: 3-4 h in morning. I took care of cleaning and feeding the chickens, birds, pigs - a very dirty task, but I wanted to give the animals a good time. It goes against my ethics to fatten them up to eat them, but I have learnt that it is a different culture and it has encouraged me to be vegan. House:just a room with hammocks criss-cross (no privacy), small old, dirty bathroom Breakfast: have to prepare on your own (bread, eggs, friuts) If you can deal with all this, your stay is 👌

First of all Hugo is an really nice guy and he looks at for his volunteers. Each day he took as to a differnt cenot wich were quite amazing! Each morning he told as what needed to be done which normally took us about 3-4 hours and the task never were too difficult. But the room/house you share with up to 4 other volunteer is really not that nice, it could use a deep cleaning and some repairs as for example some of the windows are broken. If the room is filled at your arrival you might have to sleep outside in an hammock.

It was a really good experience, Hugo is a very sympathic person you're gone feel good at his home. He works with volunteers every morning so you can share and learn so much. He's not living here at all, so it's important to know you're gone be alone for the afternoon. For exemple he didn't share meals or activities with us, but I just stayed a week so I think he just didn't have time to do it. In all cases, you're sure to meet a very good and attentive person.
