Program Details

As a Worldpacker with us, you can expect a welcoming and hands-on experience in a unique desert environment. Daily tasks are accessible to everyone and include helping repair buildings with sand bricks, caring for stray cats, creating decorations, or capturing the stunning landscapes through photography. You will also participate in preparing and sharing traditional Moroccan meals, learning local recipes, and enjoying time together around evening bonfires while listening to and playing traditional music.

From you, we expect curiosity and a willingness to engage with the local culture. You don’t need prior skills for the activities: what matters is your enthusiasm to learn, contribute, and share in the experience. In return, you will immerse yourself in nature, culture, and community, creating lasting memories and meaningful connections.

Activities & Shift

This volunteer program is designed for everyone, offering a variety of hands-on, accessible activities. You will have the chance to:
- Help repair the desert camp and surroundings by making traditional sand bricks, restoring structures damaged by the 2024 flood.
- Care for the local stray cats, giving love and attention to these friendly animals.
- Create decorations and artistic projects, or if you love photography, capture the incredible desert landscapes to help promote the project.
- Sometimes is possible to go to a farmhouse and do gardening activities, help in crop plantation and manage this green area.
Our days start with a delicious breakfast, followed by engaging activities and collaborative meals. Lunch and dinner are prepared together, giving you the chance to explore Moroccan cuisine, learn new recipes, and share the joy of cooking.
Evenings are magical: we gather around a bonfire, share stories, and play music. I will teach you local songs and how to play traditional instruments, creating unforgettable moments of connection and fun.
Tagounite also offers a glimpse into local life: there’s a lively souk every Thursday and Sunday, and with my motorbike, we can explore the surroundings, enjoy tea with my family and friends, and immerse ourselves in the local culture.
