Volunteer at our wildlife rescue center in the northern Amazon!
The experience
By coming to our center, you will be able to help the maintenance and wellfare of wild animals, victims of illegal trafficking and keeping them as pets. In addition, you will be able to experience living in a small Amazonian community, where you will canhave a cultural exchange with the local people. The activities go from cleaning the enclosures, preparing diets, enriching environments, among others. You can practice your Spanish and German.

Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Animal Care:
Help look after and take care of animals.
Building & Repairing:
Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Description:
Accommodation, breakfast and lunch and transportation lodge-center-lodge are offered for the cost of 100 soles (25 dollars aprox.). This income makes our projects sustainable and ensure the maintenance of our more than 100 animals that we house.
What you get

Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Certificate:
Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.
Requirements
Intermediate Spanish or Intermediate English
Between 18 and 60 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details
A work day with us starts at 7:30 AM. You will arrive at the center and start preparing cookies and toys for the animals.
Once done you will deliver them to each animal.
The rest of the morning you can guide tours or help with different projects and enclosure maintenance.
In the afternoon you will help prepare the diets and distribute the food to the animals and once done you have the rest of the day free to enjoy the river, the jungle and the local people.
Padre Cocha is a small community but it is only 20 minutes by boat from Iquitos, a place where you can find everything you need.

- No selfies.
- No alcohol o drug consumption during work hours and inside the center
