Program Details
This project aims to improve the health of children as well as improve the knowledge of health and sports in a fun and creative way. Your main purpose as a volunteer in this project is to be teaching children different types of sports as well as giving classes about the human health.
Your tasks as a volunteer will be to teach the children basic health classes during their free-periods as well as teaching the children sports after they finish their classes in the afternoon. Help the school develop a proper sports program and curriculum, where soccer is a key focus. You must therefore be prepared to teach both young children as well as moody teenagers!
Activities & Shift
A typical day begins in the morning time, around 8 AM where you will leave the volunteer house, and head to the nearby school. You will hereafter spend the next 2-3 hours teaching the children some basic health in class - the classes should include basic knowledge about the human body, basic knowledge about diet and definitely include the importance of exercise!
The children all attend Highridge School, which is both a primary and secondary school. That means, that the children are between 7 to 18 years old. The school runs Monday to Friday, with some options to help out on the weekends if you choose too.
