Seedling Nursery and permaculture farm attendant
The experience
The volunteers will be part of a local team of volunteers working to collect seeds, preserve seeds, propagate seeds, transplant seedlings into small potting bags, water them daily until they are ready to plant in the local schools and community,also the volunteer will help with work in the farm by watering , harvesting weeding, soil building among st other routine maintenance practices.
The works shall involve photography as well as learning.

Program Details
Each morning from 8.15 am, the volunteers join the bigger team of volunteers who are working in different parts of the conservation project and the team leader assigns work for the whole week for each pair of three or four depending on the magnitude of the tasks.In between we have water breaks at 10.30 am to 11.00 am until 1 pm when we have a lunch break until the next day.During sunny days we maybe forced to work less or have tasks like seed preparation under shades since the sun becomes to harsh for work.During the work, the local volunteers offer guidance on the steps and helps the volunteers to over come the challenges that they may come across .It is always fun as this is also the time to learn about the local cultures plants, beliefs . Since we work with alot of fun. .Working with young plants and nature is not tiring since it is refreshing and naturally therapeutic.
Activities & Shift
This work involves watering, seed collection,preparing soil, potting the good soil in small pots for planting, transplanting , arranging the plants in the nursery and distributing the plants to the community and visiting the local schools and community to check if they were planting and progressing well.Volunteers will also maintain our permaculture farm, weeding, planting, harvesting watering and other routine maintain practices shall be the main tasks.
