Program Details
We are seeking long-term volunteers (preferably a couple or two friends) who can commit to a minimum of 3 months for house sitting while we are away during the winter season. This arrangement would be from November to the end of Feb.
Accommodation will be provided in either a bungalow or stone house. Our location is surrounded by nature, situated 2 km away from the nearest village and 4 km away from the bus stop and a mini market. The temperature rarely drops below freezing ❄️ and we don't experience snow, but it remains cold and damp with frequent rain.
You should be able to motivate yourself to live independently in the nature and be capable of handling small repairs if issues come up. (We'll guide you through phone calls on how to fix things.)
Activities & Shift
While there won't be specific tasks assigned to you, your main responsibility would be to stay here and ensure the upkeep of the house. In return, we offer you accommodation equipped with WiFi. Food and other living expenses including electricity and heating will be your responsibility. However, you are welcome to enjoy the eggs from our chickens (but please, not the chickens themselves 😉) and some winter vegetables from our garden.
It's important to recognize that staying here during winter is a distinct experience from the warmer summer months when the weather is more pleasant and communal living is active. Therefore, it's essential for you to honestly assess whether you're seeking this winter experience. Additionally, we kindly ask for your commitment to stay until the agreed-upon end date.
