The experience

We are looking for garden help and care for 2 dogs and chickens.
We have 2 small very friendly pet dogs ( rescue dogs totally adorable.. one needs daily meds )the dogs need lots of attention and someone present at the house to keep them company.

We have some daily gardening, weeding and basic gardening jobs each day to keep you busy - so you'll never be bored.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Surfboards: You can use our surfboards as much as you want.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Program Details

We are a well known country luxury guesthouse and are at the end of our tourist season, so as we begin to close one part of our business we are taking a well earned break - we need an experienced mature house sitter ( solo or a couple) onsite to care for our house pets and to help with small gardening weeding projects while we are away.

The House is deep in Kerry countryside with no public transport but we have provided bicycles to get to local village shop or the 1 hour cycle to Tralee for sight seeing.

Your accommodation is a heated one bedroom well build modern stone house on the waterfront of the Atlantic ocean, You will have the house exclusively to yourself with TV, Internet, full kitchen, washing and cooking facilities. with a lovely ensuite bathroom. warm and cosy.

Activities & Shift

We do have a routine established with the dogs to ensure they have daily exercise on the beaches that surround the house. They have timings for meals and we have a routine with the chickens who are free ranging.

So we need physically active, experienced enthusiastic person(s) to apply for this. The dogs cannot be left alone for more than a half day, so no overnight trips away from the House are possible.

Rules

As hosts we have created a very relaxed liberal inclusive home here. We are open to all and have no prejudices.

In return for a respectful welcome and the use of a wonderful house we ask that our volunteer cares our property as if it were your own - we keep the house very clean and tidy shoes off, we expect you to clean up after yourself,

NO DRUGS or Smoking permitted at all, and we really are not a heavy alcohol drinking environment. My house is not a party "backpackers" place, its calm serene and not close to a village so you will be alone for a long period of time.

I am looking for a calm quiet housesitter who is perhaps looking for a retreat from Christmas and NY . We cannot offer you a social life as it is rural and quiet here and so if you prefer your own company or need a place to remove distractions to pursue reading or work from home then this will be ideal.
