Learn about organic farming in a small organic farm near Gyeongju
The experience
Hello, we run a small scale organic farm in the countryside of southern part in Korea. After having to live as a busy city-dweller, we began farming in the countryside, aspiring for a happier life. We practice Korean traditional organic farming, which is high-mix low-volume production. Also, We deal and communicate directly with the consumers. We started organic farming in 2005.
What you offer
25 hours of help per week
Farming:
Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.
What you get
2 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Get free drinks or beverages.:
Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Requirements
Fluent Korean or Intermediate English
Between 22 and 48 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details
Organic farming is a very valuable thing to protect the environment. But farming is quite tough physically. You have to touch the soil, shovel, and do hard physical work. Volunteer work would not be easy.
However, We're also always making balance between work, play, and relax time. the joy of working in such a beautiful scenery and clean air is worth everything. During winter we often travel abroad like you, so we'd love to share stories as a travelers as well
The help depends on which season you come...(below)
SPRING: Add compost to the field, weeding, seeding, harvesting wild vegetables,
making tea, planting potatoes, Chinese cabbage, harvesting broccoli, etc.
SUMMER: Growing, harvesting, and packing tomato, potato, cabbage, garlic, lettuce, broccoli, herb, etc.
FALL: Making kimchi, Growing, harvesting, and packing peanut, sweet potato, corn, soy bean, cauliflower, egg plant, etc.
Activities & Shift
We work five hours a day, for example, 9 am. to 12 pm. and 2 pm. to 4 pm. And we work 5 days a week. Tuesday and Friday are day off. It varies slightly depending on the weather and season.
Rules
1.How do we get to stay,
Usually, you will stay our small guest room. We have two single rooms and one double room.
2.And what about food?
Having a meal with our family members / Using bunch of Organic food we produce / Share your traditional food with us. We are not vegetarians. But during farming season, we usually only eat organic vegetables directly from our farm.
It can be difficult for you if you want to eat meat.
3.What about the help you required?
Basically we have a variety kinds of organic crops. We hope you can learn about nature doing farming together. There are different works for each different crops, also from seeding to harvest. We hope you enjoy our organic farming!
4. We don't accept smoker and digital nomad.
5. You are not allowed to use perfume.
6. If you learn Hangul(Korean alphabet) before coming here is good. anyone can learn it easily in about two hours.
