I spent a week on Chris's property and fell in love with it! The property is so gorgeous, quiet, and secluded by the rolling hills of Portugal. The tasks always varied which I appreciated, because it never felt repetitive or mundane, and I also got to learn some new skills and work with my hands outside a lot:) Typically we'd wake up early and meet for some breakfast and coffee before discussing the day's tasks. The hours were respected. After getting off work around 2, I had the rest of the day to my enjoyment -- read, swim in the river, etc. Everyone was so lovely and welcoming, GO GO GO!

It was my first Worldpackers experience and it was amazing! All the people that are living on the property are really welcoming and social. I really liked sleeping in the yurt and being able to reconnect with nature. I would definitely visit Chris again in the future :)

I'm so grateful for my experience at the project, I left with my mind opened and heart full. It was a pleasure to work alongside Chris and Sean and learn from them. Thank you for sharing your little paradise! I feel so fortunate to have met the wonderful people who reside at the project- after only a week it felt like I belonged, and I can't wait to return. Sending love to all <3

I had the best time ever. The place is wonderful, paradise. The pictures dont do it justice in my opinion. Its in the middle of nowhere, nothing but the birds, chickens and wind to hear. Chris is very passionate about the place which is nice to see. The working was really nice, working hours are respected and instructions clear. The other residents are very friendly. We worked a lot of the time together with a resident called Sean, who is just like Chris a wonderful person with a pure heart. I will be comming back here, thats for sure. I learned a lot about living in nature. Thank you 🌻

I had a great time at Chris's project! My boyfriend and I stayed in a big yurt all to ourselves (and Josi-Jo 🐈‍⬛). There were a few spiders, bugs, and we used a dry toilet outside, but overall, it was good! We worked mostly in the garden—helping with wood, weeding, and planting. Breakfast and lunch were shared, and I got to cook a lot 🥰. Everyone was super friendly! They invited us to celebrate Thanksgiving, and Chris took us to a pizzeria and a local market 😇. Big thanks to Chris and his community!

I had a lovely time at Várzea, it was peaceful and warm. Chris was a great host with good communication and gave us tasks within the garden and helping out on the land in the morning which is great for learning about how life adapts to different climates. I also met two other volunteers my age who I got along with well and I really recommend going here, it was a great second Worldpackers experience. Also dinner is included which isn't on this website, all 3 meals can be cooked by yourself as Chris buys new ingredients. I found the wildlife a little challenging but it was fine.

I felt very safe and welcome to this experience. Working with too English speaking, easy going but hard working men. Chris was very accommodating and pleasant to work with, always working together was really nice for the team spirit. I had my own place to stay in which was also such a luxury. We even had a social evening with neighbour's making food in the fire oven which was cool to be a part of. Everyone was really lovely.
