Program Details
We run a wilderness camp nestled amidst the forests and lakes of the Swedish Lapland, only 15-minutes drive from Kiruna. We are looking for 2-3 motivated, adventurous and respectful volunteers to join our international team and work together to provide best services possible to our guests from all over the world. We see it as a fantastic opportunity to connect and share stories and experiences, and we hope to learn from each other. Take this chance to get away from the fast pace of the city life, enjoy nature, learn how to work effectively in a well-prospering hospitality business. In the winter, you can marvel at the magical Northern Lights dancing above our heads several days a week, while in the summer you can experience the charm of the Midnight Sun in the place where the sun never sets.
Activities & Shift
We want to open our doors to volunteers willing to help us out with daily tasks at the camp in return for the possibility of staying long-term in one of the most stunning places in the world.
Different positions could be available:
Cleaning/ Housekeeping: Your tasks would include a mix of the following: cleaning the cabins and public areas (common kitchen and bathrooms, saunas, fire hut), helping out with the laundry, dressing up the guests before the snowmobile tour in winter, renting sport equipment, ploughing the snow in the winter, mowing the lawn and gardening in the summer, preparing wood bags for sale, helping with minor reparations and renovation, painting, entertaining our guests and make them feel welcome at the Camp, welcoming guest at reception and checking them in and out. The workload and tasks may differ day to day. We'd highly appreciate people who are versatile and flexible to best meet our needs and benefit from this exchange.
Reception: This position is mainly for working at reception: greeting guests with cheerfulness and patience, clearly explaining the facilities available at the camp and how to make their stay unforgettable. Proceed with check-in and check-out and resolve any problems that may be encountered, passing on any problems encountered to the team in place.
Good organizational and customer relations skills are essential for this position. A good communication with the receptionist in place and other team member is essential.
In addition to reception duties, some of the remaining hours will be used for cleaning common areas and cabins, and for painting or renovation work if required.
You can precise in your application for what is your preference in terms of position.
