Dynamic and creative carpenters, in Thailand


The experience

We set up a project to teach natural and sustainable building techniques, especially earth, in Northern Thailand. We need volunteers who could be either young carpenters by trade or handymen with experience working with wood, to make:
- Simple wood tables
- Wood structure to install a double roof (5m X6m roof)
You can also stay a few more days to help us to build a room with earth.
Work from 8.30 AM to 12PM and 14 to 17.30, 3 days off per week.


What you offer

28 hours of help per week

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.


What you get

3 days off per week

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.


Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 22 and 50 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Activities & Shift

Breakfast 7.30 AM
Work: 8.30 AM - 12PM / 14 - 17.30
We need volunteers who can take a little direction from us and then work independently or with a little assistance. The work will be often followed up by the project owner, who will provide the necessary explanations, tools, personnal protective equipment.
3 days off per week. During days off, the owners are away so all volunteers are invited to go and travel. All the expenses during days off, especially food and accomodation need to be covered by the volunteers
Breakfast prepared by the owners; lunch and dinner either eaten in local restaurants or bought from the local markets. Volunteers having special diet requirements (vegetarian, vegan) may need to prepare their meals for themselves.


Rules

Volunteers should have their own health insurance to cover any expenses in case of accident or sickness

To respect the others, everybody is asked to avoid making noise after 10 PM
We ask all volunteers to refrain from any illegal drug use or excessive drinking in our centre.
