Help behind our reception and cafe/bar
The experience
We are a family run guesthouse/hostel on the shore of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. A key part of this role is to help meet/greet our guests through the reception desk, handle check ins/outs, help behind the cafe bar, give tours of the property to our guests, help with the running and cleaning of the bar and cafe, and create a welcoming environment for our guests.
What you offer

Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Help with booking systems and payments.
Reception:
Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.
Bartending:
Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.

Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Team Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Intermediate English or Beginner Spanish

Program Details
We currently do worktrade stays in exchange for accommodation (normally shared with one, sometimes two).
The basic hospitality role is a mix of reception/cafe (taking food and drinks orders, making drinks, doing check ins/outs, extensions etc for our room rentals), help with basic housekeeping, giving guests tours of the property on check in, etc. We are also always open/interested in projects that utilize specific skill sets, depending on what needs we have in the moment.
We ask 5 shifts of 5 hours per week, in exchange for accommodation and two meals per day (breakfast and one other meal) from our restaurant every day. If some of the hours end up being more project -type work (gardening, construction, work with the kids, art projects or painting, tech support or marketing, etc etc) then the hours can be split up differently as works best.
Activities & Shift
Reception, cafe and bar work, guest liason, general cleaning of common areas. We are also always open to work-exchanges with different skill sets, and to combining some hospitality with other roles such as gardening, painting, homeschool help, help with art projects, construction, etc etc!
