This was such a great first experience, the family made me feel like home and were welcoming and warm. We had some really fun nights and long talks Marie showed me around and the place was perfect to connect with nature and be at peace (i loved the beach and biking around the lake) I m definetly coming back next summer🫶🏻

Volunteering at the guest house will be an experience I'll never forget! From the moment I stepped foot in their house I felt like I was apart of the family. They do their best to integrate you and make you feel as comfortable as possible! The workload was easy, and once it was done we got the rest of the day for ourselves, where we could then go and explore the village or just chill at the lake. I highly recommend this experience, I can't wait to come back someday and cook some delicious meals with Marie and her family! <3

I'm grateful for my time at the guest house. As a volunteer, you get to eat at a delicious breakfast buffet every morning. For lunch, there are leftovers from the breakfast, sometimes Marie will also cook or order food. The work is as previous volunteers have stated pretty easy and the host provides clear instructions. I was there in wintertime, so everything in the village was closed, but I still really enjoyed time by the lake and in the mountains. Unfortunately, I do agree that the host's moods would sometimes cause uncomfortable situations, that could be handled in a more mature way.

I don't know how to sum this up into only 600 characters, but let's give it a try. The host made sure to provide us everything we needed, often times invited us for a lunch at a restaurant or a dinner, which was very generous of them. Also the surrounding nature was truly beautiful and I miss the mountains already:) Work was easy and quick. The only negative for me would be the host's sometimes hot-tempered nature, which caused uncomfortable situations, while the problem could be solved in a much calmer manner. Overall it was a very good teaching experience for me and I thank you for that:)

I have very mixed feelings about this experience. On one hand it granted me a perfect opportunity to connect with nature and relax, on the other one I had one of the scariest experiences of my life when the hosts got drunk and aggressive and kicked me out, wich came literally out of the blue. Nevertheless it was the parents of Marie who acted this way and not her, and as I understood they are leaving the guest house for good, so other volunteers shouldn't have to experience this. Marie herself was very sweet and showed me around. And the work itself was very acceptable too.

Unfortunately I also have mixed feelings about the experience. As a first time host, i really had bigger expectations.
I asked you to come whenever you want, but to be done with eating breakfast by 10 am. Everyday you would come 10-15 minutes before ten and would eat until even past 10:30 and skipping your work. The only time you had to help me with preparing the breakfast in the morning you came and fell asleep twice on the couch in the kitchen. Do you really believe that’s acceptable? You constantly made faces when me and my parents would ask you to do your tasks and would talk back at us, I find that extremely disrespectful towards someone who is 30 years older than you. The time I wanted to give you your free day you immediately went into panic mode, because it wasn’t the day you demanded. I guess you tried manipulating me by crying, because when i told you it’s okay we will figure it out, you stopped crying immediately and hung up the phone. You would drink alcohol almost everyday, get drunk and break or drop things.
At the time you applied for our position, I only was able to provide breakfast, although I told you you can use our kitchen and if we invite you, you are more than welcome to join us for dinner, but I never promised you both lunch and dinner at home. You would always enter our private rooms (even when we are not at home) and you would take from our personal products and cook for yourself and wouldn’t even clean afterwards.
You got everything from us what was promised, but always demanded more, but we never got in return what we asked for. Instead of the 4 hours a day, you almost never worked more than 2-3 hours.
There were so many other little moments where, you showed disrespect towards me and my parents, but my parents they don’t tolerate disrespect.. which I totally understand.
Nothing came out of the blue, no one was aggressive, no one kicked you out.. we told you it’s best for everyone if you would leave. I even helped you and drove you the next day to the station.
I hope that in future if you still decide to volunteer that you have more respect for your hosts.
