I stayed at the hostel for 15 days and had a truly lovely experience. The place is super peaceful and very well located. Lora is an excellent host and made me feel right at home. Highly recommend it

The hostel was clean and well maintained. However as a volunteer, Lora gave me little information on how she wanted things done and sped through the instructions. She was sporadic and chaotic. After cleaning she checked my work. She then proceeded to tell me it was not good enough, which is fine. However after I told her I would re do it, she proceeded to cuss and yell at me and point out every small hair and speck of dirt. She also insulted my appearance and my age. I spent only one night there as she gave me a lot of anxiety. I would not recommend volunteering for her.

From we first meet, Lora was enthusiastic, sunny and really fanny! she make you feel home, the place is small and cosy, so there is not a lot to do! Laura will not ask you the word, but simple tasks that she explain really well and multiple times, she's patience and kind. But don't try to fool her, She's not stupid! Her hostel is something special, she love the place like her own home and it has a social purpose! It is in the center of tirana so it's easy to move around and she knows everything about Albania, history, best places to visit and to eat! Best place ever, a paradise! THANKS LORA!

I had an incredible 3 weeks at the hostel, Lora was the best host/boss I could have asked for and looked after me so well! She has a wealth of knowledge of the history and culture of Albania and was so generous in sharing all of that with me. I loved the experience and can't wait to visit again!

When I arrived there were not many guests, hence why I didn't have a lot of work to do. My job was to make the beds and wait for check-ins (which could be very boring). Lora is a nice and easy-going host and she has a cleaning lady who cleans the bathrooms, rooms, common area etc., so I didn't have to do any cleaning :) I was always looking forward to the breakfast! You can easily coordinate with Lora as you can go outside when she's at the hostel and the other way around. In my opinion, Tirana doesn't have a lot to offer and therefore I had explored the city within 3 days.

Lora has a very harsh and assertive way of communicating and likes things done her way. At times, she could also be funny and kind (yes, contradictory). Additionally, many things were quite disorganized, such as check-ins/check-outs and bed linens, and she handled everything alone. While I and another volunteer were there, we managed, but when I was alone, it was overwhelming, too much for one person, and I felt pressured and anxious. She also made several criticisms about "Latina girls," despite knowing I am Latina. I wouldn't recommend this as a volunteer experience.

The hostel is very clean and in a great location. It had a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Lora is very passionate and likes things done a particular way which caused a bit confusion at the start. There is also an expectation to be social and be very involved with guests. As Lora is the only permanent staff member she is often tired and stressed and may take this out on customers and volunteers. I found some comments towards South American guests and volunteers offensive and uncomfortable. I found she treated me a lot nicer than other Brazilian volunteer.

I wouldn't recommend this volunteer opportunity and left early due to several issues. Lora runs the place alone, making her stressed and impatient when explaining tasks. Upon arrival, I immediately started helping because things were chaotic and Lora wasn't feeling well. The tasks were easy, but the summer heat was draining as the AC barely worked and was turned off during the day. Water shortages were common, making it hard to shower. When I decided to leave, Lora reacted unprofessionally, making inappropriate comments. If you want more details, feel free to contact me.

The hostel itself is nice and the purpose behind it is amazing, profitting for an NGO for albanian women. However, I wouldn't recommend this as volunteer.. The hostel really needs more workers, since Lora is the only one there, responsible for everything. The whole experience was very stressful because of how stressed she would get, and that's not what volunteering is about.
