This was my first volunteering experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one! Everybody is lovely, and even with some misunderstandings along the way, at the end, everything ended up great. The host really listens to preference about work, free days and food. I had never been a bartender before, but Spyros taught me all I needed and was always willing to explain me more. The place is amazing, with an amazing view (with consequence a big hill from the beach hahahah) and I absolutely recommend it

The hotel was an unforgettable experience in my life. During my time there, I learned and developed new skills. Irini is a strong, welcoming, and dedicated woman. Her culinary creations were the best food I've ever had. Nartila and Elsie, who also work there, brightened my days with their lively and joyful presence. I will surely miss this place. I am very grateful for every opportunity I have had here.

I 100% recommend this place for volunteering if you want to learn the basics of restaurant and hotel tasks, as well as practice your English. You will never go hungry, and the food is delicious! It's also a great opportunity to learn about the local culture. Thank you for everything, Spyros, Irini, Elsa, Narti and Christoph!! It was a very nice experience, and the staff were always very kind and concerned about your well-being 😊🫶🏼✨

Himare is a great place to volunteer, there are a lot of beautiful beaches, and it's close to cities you can visit on your days off, the hotel is a little far from the city center but if you like walking you are not gonna have any problem. You have 3 delicious meals a day, Irini is the best cooking! Spyros was always great to me, I left very grateful for the time I spent at Aphrodites, thanks again!

The hotel is a beautiful and recomendable place surrounded by mountains and a stunning sea view. You can know the local culture and enjoy the beaches around. The tasks are very easy even more if you have experience as a bartender or service. Get ready to enjoy Irini's meals which are always plenty and delicious especially breakfast! As a vegetarian Iri always made sure to prepare something special for me. The hotel staff is fun and always with a smile. Spyros knows a lot about mixology and you can learn easily with him. The volunteers and my beloved cats were the best part :) Gracias por todo!

This is my first WP experience and I absolutely LOVED it! Albania is full of nice people and there is such beauty here. The location is pretty far from the airport, so make sure that you get detailed instructions from the host. Once you arrive you will be captivated by the beauty and the air in Himare. It is a family owned business and the expectation is that everyone helps out to ensure that all runs smoothly. You are treated like family here. It truly felt like a home away from home. You are well fed & they genuinely care about your well-being. I was sad to leave & will miss it very much <3

This is the perfect place for your first solo trip. Irene is a very caring and kind person who will always make you delicious food. I want to menshion spyros and buli and say avgaristo poli! ευχαριστώ! However, working shift is acceptable but be aware that the hotel is fully booked in the summer and therefore you will have to work hard. But exactly 5 hour. everyone is helping you to make your job easier. I would like to advise you to see bus schedule in advance from tirana to himare. Also hotel is located a little bit far from center so ready for walking. finally it was nice adventure!

First of all, be prepared for a tricky bus ride to Himarë. The busses are not easy to understand here, but when you get past that bumb in the road, you will be rewarded with a stunning view, a loving hoste and some very calm days spent exploring Himarë. I was there to be a servere, and I would recommend bringing a pair of running shoes, because as the season begins to rise, it gets very busy, both morning af evening shift. Irini can become a bit wild, when it gets busy, but she is such a sweetheart (her husband aswell), so you will quickly forget about it.

The view from the accommodation is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, the food is delicious (three meals included). I worked as a waitress, the restaurant is very busy, so you have to enjoy working at an intense pace and sometimes with a bit of pressure due to the high number of customers. The people who work there have good hearts and can be won over with kindness, but it takes patience to understand the communication barriers and also the culture. I've had some incredible days and learned a lot.

The experience has positives and negatives. I didn't enjoy or learn as much as I would expect from a volunteer experience, due to a somewhat toxic work environment. I received some disrespectful comments from the staff, and had to set clear boundaries. I'm sure the family has good intentions, but it needs much better management here. Aside from the work, the location is stunning, we were fed 3 nice meals per day and made incredible friendships with the other volunteers!
