My stay with Olena and her family was wonderful. She went beyond any expectations. Working hours were easy and adaptable to my skill and plans. Food was 10/10 in quality and quantity everyday thanks to Babushka. The location is great, and the family were extremely friendly and open in suggesting places to visit, activities and in helping if any scheduling or travel issues arose. Olena encouraged practicing languages and engagement all the time and her entire family welcoming. Olena could not do more to make the experience more comfortable and worry-free.

Volunteering at Vyshenky the school was one of the most heartwarming experiences I've ever had. From the very first day, I felt at home, surrounded by kind, welcoming people who made me feel like family. Teaching English to the kids not only allowed me to give, but also helped me discover a new part of myself: a genuine love for working with children. I left with a full heart and a deep sense of connection. I would gladly do it all over again.

Teaching at the the school has been a fantastic experience, a brilliant way to experience true Ukrainian hospitality, and volunteer in a meaningful way. Elena and her family are wonderful people, they're characterful hosts, who'll treat you like members of their own family. The work itself isn't terribly difficult especially if you have some experience, and you will be supported if you're unfamiliar with teaching. The kids are great, and you have a lot of freedom to build lessons how you wish. I would highly recommend it to anyone, thank you so much for everything!

Elena and her family are absolutely lovely. I've learned a lot about different cultures and shared many heartwarming experiences living with them. The students were mostly very respectful and eager to communicate with a foreigner like me. It was such a wonderful memory in a country full of both joy and sorrow. I highly recommend it.

Elena and family were very kind and welcoming. I was sick much of the time, and yet, they treated me as part of the family, even though we had just met. The work hours are 2-4 hours per day, with two days off. There is plenty of time each day to walk around the village, hang with the family, or just goof off . I highly encourage you to take this opportunity to immerse yourself in Ukrainian culture with this great family and the school. Make it a 2-3 month adventure if you have the availability. You will leave better off for having been here. It was an amazing experience.

The the school, an amazing place. You will make a real contribution here. Work schedules, loads, and expectations are clear, comprehensive, flexible and manageable. You are bound to learn Ukrainian and Russian languages skills as you work, as well as fundamentals of child care. Your hosts will ensure you are comfortable and happy each day. When I was sick, they bought specialized medicines and offered it to me for free. The food is amazing and abundant, and sourced locally. Experience the might of Kyiv, and the gentle touch of a rural setting. I could not recommend this place more.

The home is as described, a lovely village outside of Kyiv with a garden used to grow delicious food for dinner. Main toilet/bathroom for family, basement toilet/bathroom for staff and volunteers - even where volunteers have medical/mobility needs. The rooms themselves are lovely, however members of the household enter rooms without permission - including whilst sleeping. The bedrooms do not have locks to prevent this. Teaching environment is wonderful and the the school is successful, however volunteers should be provided additional privacy with bedroom locks and equal access to facilities.

Staying with Elena was wonderful. The room was cozy, with a comfortable bed and a balcony overlooking the garden. The nearby lakes were beautiful for exploring, and the twins were super friendly and adventurous. Babushka, though occasionally blunt, was caring and made delicious meals from her garden. Sergei was also very helpful with directions and advice. Despite a few misunderstandings with Elena, we worked things out, and I made great connections with fellow travelers like Zoe and some locals. Overall, an amazing experience that I highly recommend.

Staying with Elena and her family was an absolute delight. I got to understand so much more about Ukrainian culture and, along with having a chance to teach local kids and teens, I feel I've got a much better understanding of this fascinating part of the world. My students were hardworking, fun, appreciative and—something that keeps all teachers happy—relatively quick learners. The house/the school is not too far away from Kyiv, so there's lots to do even during the war, but it was always a pleasure coming back home to the people and the delicious food!
