The experience

Volunteers will have a chance to empower young minds in a slum community through language education.
This will provide kids with essential language skills, boosting their confidence, opportunities and future prospects.

What you offer

5 hours of help per day

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 20 Per day

Description: volunteers contribute 20US$ to cater for accommodation, food and a small contribution to the program

What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Dance classes: Take free dance classes at our place.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Holistic Therapies: You can take part in any of our therapeutic activities for free.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English or Fluent English

Between 18 and 60 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

United States visa or citizenship

What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

The program begins at 9am and ends at 3pm with breaks for re-energizing and refreshment.
Some of the activities volunteers will engage in are lesson planning, language classes, storytelling, tutoring, resource development and interactive games.

Activities & Shift

Activates will involve teaching English, assisting in creating engaging lesson plans, read stories, promote literacy, spark imagination, offer one on one or small group support, create educational materials and organizing language based games and activities.
