A Welcoming Hostel for Istanbul Volunteer Experience! :)

I had a nice time at the hostel! It's very central in Beyoglu on the European side. A 5 minute walk to Taksim Square and well connected to get to other areas. You work 5 hours a day at reception, 6 days a week and the shifts are most of the times very relaxing. I am recommending this host to everyone who wants to be in a central area and is looking for a chill work :)

The hostel is really comfy and has the necessary to feel like at home. People are so kind and willing to help and the shift hours in the reception are respected. You just have to be a little flexible because it depends on the people working and the season. I was there in winter, March, so the season was a little low but there are always guests. It's a good opportunity to be comfortable and to make new friends.

The hostel is a cozy place to stay, just 5 minutes away from Taksim Square and the Metro Station. The check-in and check-out process at reception is simple, but you'll need to pay attention when filling out the forms to keep bookings and rooms organized. The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can cook your meals every day. The staff is always ready to help with a smile and positive energy. Definitely a great place that will appreciate your assistance.

The staff were really kind and welcoming, and they even helped me make sure that I could adjust my schedule to attend an event I really wanted to go to. The hostel itself is very clean and has nice rooms. I would be aware though that as a volunteer, your bed is in a shared, mixed dorm in a small room that is also used for storage of some furniture and supplies. It's pretty cramped and people are sleeping at different hours throughout the day and night so there is usually not much lighting. Reception was easy and wasn't too busy.

During my stay, another volunteer repeatedly used my personal food and eventually stole money from me. He admitted it in a recorded conversation. Despite this, the host did not take meaningful action or protect my safety. What's worse, the same volunteer was regularly under the influence of drugs and alcohol before his shifts — something the host seemed to tolerate. This created an unsafe and uncomfortable environment for others. Clean place, but serious issues with safety and supervision. Also it's freezing cold and the heating isn't working for receptionist I cannot recommend this host.

Your statements do not reflect the reality of your stay. Our hostel is staffed 24/7, monitored by cameras, and we have never had any safety issues.

The conflict you had with another volunteer was a personal matter, and no fault was officially found. Your review seems to come from frustration rather than facts.

Claims about drug or alcohol use are completely false. We maintain a respectful and safe environment for everyone, and your review gives a misleading impression.

The place is well located at the heart of Istanbul in taksim square. The staff are friendly and the beds are typical for a standard hostel. The hosts were warm and welcomed me to a lot of tea and snacks. My only problem is that the English isn't that great from every member of staff so that can create a lot of confusion with tasks and agreements(at least for me). They tend to not be flexible with your schedule and they make it up on the go. I had to come back one night even after we agreed that I didn't have to work that speciric night. I still recommend this place though.

I had a really good experience in the hostel all the agreements were fullfilled. The work is not stressfull or complicated. As long as you have good communicartion with the guests and the team, you are organized, follow the checkin-out process and have willingness to help you will be fine. I always felt respected. The enviorment is friendly, helpful and welcoming. The location is great. Well connected to the most beautyfull and interesting places in Istanbul. A destination you definitively cannot miss. So I definitevely recommend the place to anyone who wants to make a volunteering exchange.
