Program Details
This year we are looking forward to the finishing touches for the cabins (finish carpentry, paint, drywall) installing a new well and water system for the properties, building nature trails, and creating wonderful landscapes on our properties.
As much as the weather changes in Patagonia, so do our plans, but we are looking for help in any of the areas:
• Trail building and fence building
• Weeding, seeding, transplanting, or general landscaping
• Prepping and painting shipping containers and various other structures
• Building benches, platforms, walkways, retaining walls, windbreaks, etc.
• Preparing for and attending tourists/visitors (cleaning, preparing breakfasts, washing dishes, changing sheets, grocery shopping, etc.)
• Seasonal work such as Wildlife Monitoring, clearing weeds, trimming, removing snow, and general landscaping, etc.
Activities & Shift
Duration: We normally work a few hours in the morning, have lunch, and then work a few hours in the afternoon but shoot for no more than 6 hours a day
Rules
Eligibility: Participants must be at least 21 years old and willing to sign a waiver, have demonstrated relevant skills necessary or experience in construction-related fields, have a passion for cultural immersion, and a willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
At the moment we will be providing more rustic-off-grid facilities, like a campsite. Our bathrooms will likely be a combination of the cabins and a pit toilet, to be built. We will offer tents in the future, but for now, you will get to stay in one of our cabins.
Relevant gear: rubber boots or hiking shoes, headlight, water-repellent cloth.
All this can be acquired in Coyhaique.
◄IMPORTANT► To apply for this position, you must be comfortable in a remote setting without access to a town. Think backcountry backpacking. It's highly recommended your own car since it's the only way to get to the project location. We may be able to offer transfer depending on the schedule.
