The Experience

We need help maintaining our historic and beautiful sanctuary and retreat center with many buildings, Egyptian motifs, and exotic plants and animals. We celebrate the Divine Feminine and alternative spirituality and support LGBTIQ+. Volunteers have been coming here for 45 years. We need housekeepers, gardeners, and handypeople of all sorts to work independently or as part of a team for about 4 hours most days.

I have started my volunteering in the best way at the Center. The people in charge of the place are attentive, detail-oriented and have a friendly and polite personality, especially DiTraci and Daniel, who made a unique and comfortable stay possible at all times. The activities are carried out in a flexible and entertaining way, the surrounding towns are beautiful, in short, everything was perfect.

The Center was for sure my favorite place that I've volunteered so far. They were so warm and welcoming, and truly listened to anything I had to say. I would say the best thing about it is definitely their flexibility. I was able to get up when I wanted and work at my own pace, and they were happy to let me, just so long as the work got done. I loved meeting all the animals here as well, they definitely all have character!! (if you go here, make sure to say hello to Peaches the bird for me). I would recommend the Center to anyone who values hard work, but also just seeing beauty.

My stay here was amazing, the place is absolutely beautiful and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. There were various jobs for me to do and I was happy to help out. I learned a lot from the people who stay and work there and can see myself coming back at some point!

My first experience couldn't have been better. At first, I was a bit unsure due to my English level, but everyone welcomed me so well, and these days were truly special for me. Dan was like an older brother, a great everyday companion, a truly enlightened person. Manaar was like a mother, providing many teachings every day. Justin was spectacular, a fun and kind-hearted person. In the end, everyone welcomed me so warmly, making me feel like part of a special family. The place is beautiful, and it has an incredible energy. Detraci, thank you for the opportunity – you all are amazing!
