Program Details

MUST HAVE A DRIVERS License for a 4 wheel vehicle (stick shift) or Tricyle (tuk tuk). If you don't have a valid drivers license and or skills in driving, please don't apply or message to save us both time and effort. Our hostel is 10 minutes away via a motorised vehicle from the center of town, and this is why this matters.

We need help with HOSTEL activities so good energy, patience with demanding guests, outgoing and an adventurous attitude.

For the negative, the ugly truth is life in the island has some small incidental expenses. So if you are penny pincher, extremely budget conscious, want everything for free, and are using volunteering to purely game the system for cheap travel, please don’t apply. Also, when checking in the hostel you have to sign a short contract for your own protection and the hostel’s property as well, don’t be shocked if this is unwelcoming. You are welcomed. (This is in place because we had volunteers who drunk drove and crashed our vehicle).

Integrity, responsible, reliable and Kindness are a must, and please don't be perverted and try to hookup with different guests.

Again, You have to have the right attitude and work with the local team. Respect and kindness goes a long way.

Activities & Shift

I would just love an english speaker who can converse and connect with the guests. Solo travellers need company and this is why they stay in hostels.

Volunteering time will be 4 hours a day, 5 times a week. You will help with reception to announce and market the hostel activities. If you are applying as a couple, please know that you will be doing things separately and or together so daily activities even on your rest days are run. Movie night is an example of a rest day. So, thats an example.

Rules

A bunk bed in the Official Volunteer room inside the Hostel. The room has No airconditioning, and if there are more than one volunteer you will bunk and be room mates. (I repeat no AC in the room)

Free 2 meals per volunteering day, the guest breakfast at the restaurant and Lunch OR dinner BUT the same food of the Hostel Staff. Not restaurant food okay to be clear but Hostel Filipino Staff food, So you really get to eat and experience local cuisine.

Unfortunately, local cuisine is not vegetarian friendly. If you are applying as vegetarian, expect you wont be able to eat the staff meals. You can prepare your own food at your own cost in the Hostel Guest kitchen.
