Ali is a great host and made my first volunteering experience fun. The tasks weren't bad and the house is really good for exploring San Juan. Definitely would recommend.

This was my first expierence with WP and I was very happy with it. Ali is a very friendly local host who made sure to make everyone feel welcomed and made sure everyone knew their way around the area. Many times she gave invited us to social events with her and always let everyone know about cool daily events. She is a great host, very creative and social. All the other volunteers were also very nice. The experience was very fun and I would do it again! Definitely recommend it to others!

I can't say anything expect that alexandra is incredible, really. I don't know if she was like this with me because she liked me, but I can tell you from my own experience that I couldn't have asked for anything more. Truly incredible. Thank you.

I volounteered at Ali for two weeks and couldn't have asked for a better experience! She's warm, caring, and always ready to give helpful advice like a friend does. I felt at home from day one, thanks to you Ali!!!

I'm so happy I got to experience San Juan through this opportunity. Thanks to Ali, Jesse and Cam I felt immediately at home Ali is a wonderful host, she's friendly and generous and I'm happy I could help her her projects. The tasks are simple but not for the lazy, there's enough free time to enjoy the city and the accomodation offers everything you need. Wish I could have stayed for longer, hope I'll come back some day. Thank you

My volunteering experience was absolutely amazing! I learned so much and had the chance to meet many incredible people. The accommodations were super comfortable, making me feel right at home, and the work itself was engaging and deeply satisfying. My host went above and beyond to make this experience unforgettable—taking us to explore so many beautiful parts of Puerto Rico. It was truly a perfect blend of meaningful work, cultural exploration, and personal growth. I'm so grateful for this opportunity!

I had a great time! The location is ideal for exploring San Juan. Made friends with the other volunteers the tasks were completed by 12pm most days, we'd have lunch then you had the rest of the day to rest explore etc. The heat was a lot some days but I got used to the fans to cool off. There are bikes to explore. Grocery store and planet fitness nearby. Ali took us on a tour and always sent recommendations of places to go.

Not sure what happened but was told to find new accommodation the day of. I was invited to come earlier due to another person leaving early due to an accident or something. I did. Helped clean up a project over 2 days and left a plate I was still eating at the table between tasks was addressed about that, it may bring bugs so I agreed and cleaned up. After visiting a friend I was told it wouldn't work out and I had to pack my things and leave that day. Alicia did at least offer me a ride but sent me in information on homeless shelters and never explain why things wouldn't work.

Brittany’s placement ended on her first official day due to reliability and house-rule issues. On arrival, she left dishes in a shared area despite reminders to clean up; her door-frame painting was incomplete, she scheduled an interview with another host during volunteer hours; took a house bicycle off-site and was unavailable the next morning for a paired task, resulting in a no-show. For these reasons we ended the placement. We wish Brittany the best moving forward.
