The experience

Join The Yard Hostel as a Volunteer Receptionist and become an essential part of our vibrant community in either Bangkok! This role is ideal for those who are passionate about travel, sustainability, and fostering genuine connections. As a volunteer, you’ll help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel at home and encourages meaningful interactions.

What you offer

26 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

What you get

4 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Drinks: Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Intermediate English

Over 24 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

We have 70 guests maximum per day. We live as family.
Kitchen and washing machine always welcome to use.
We included breakfast as guest, feel free to have until you full.
Dorm room with 3.5ft bed size.

Activities & Shift

- Work 3 days per week
- 8am-4pm or 10am-6pm or 2pm-10pm (8 hours/day)
- Welcome Guests: Greet arrivals with a friendly attitude, assist with check-ins and check-outs, and introduce them to The Yard’s unique vibe.
- Be a Local Guide: Offer information about our eco-conscious practices and give tips on the best local experiences in Bangkok.
