I've been in Aberystwyth from 16th August to 16th September! The work is easy, it doesn't take too time and I had 2 days off per week. Will and Louise are a very nice people, they're very helpful and friendly! I met some volunteers from other countries and I had fun with them, it was a good opportunity to discover new cultures and speak english. I also met local people, especially the last two weeks because more students got back to the university in Aberystwyth. It was my first experience as a volunteer and I enjoyed it!

It was an extraordinary place for me. I felt at home from the beginning, the people were lovely, I got to know a little more about the Welsh culture and had a great time with my host family and in this way, I improved my English a little. When I was there most of the time there was one more volunteer so the tasks were easy to carry out by dividing up the tasks, basically cleaning the hostel rooms. The town of Aberystwyth is beautiful and accessible by public transport. I made some amazing friends, I already miss it and I know I will be back. See you soon! Thank you very much!

I've stayed at this guesthouse for three months and it's been a great experience ! Louise and Bill have been great hosts also. Daily work isn't too difficult at the guesthouse at all ie cleaning and maintaining the rooms, taking care of requests for guests, etc. You can also do occasional side projects as well as help out at their other property at the hostel about 30-45 min away. Aberystwyth and the rest of Wales truly is a beauty scenery wise. Would definitely stay again in the future !

I consider myself very lucky to be here. Louise and Bill are such wonderful, easy going and welcoming hosts. Not just that, the room provided has the most amazing view and to wake up next to the sea everyday is such a blessing. It is easy to adapt to the work and nothing stressful.

I enjoyed my time in Aberystwyth; Bill & Louise were very kind &tried to organize either a dinner or walk/beer/ some activity once a week which I really appreciated to socialize/see a little more of the area. (Small, bit isolated, but nice & by the water) The work generally isn't very hard but it can depend on the guests. We were generally left to organize amongst ourselves the work, & days off, so it's good if you're vocal about time you want off, asking for help, & sharing the workload. I really enjoyed the few days I got to work at the hostel as a bit of a change from the daily routine.

Bill was a very helpful and communicative person... Although my stay was short.... I had a great experience In this volunteering... The location is amazing. I woke up every day looking at the sea and admiring all the natural beauty around me. Having a room for me with a wonderful king size bed was divine. My nights have never been so good!

Louise and Bill are amazing people. This cultural immersion allowed me to learn so much about the culture of Wales. I really felt like part of the family during those 4 weeks. The timing of the activities is fair and there is still plenty of time to walk around the city and learn a little more about the local culture. The location is incredible. I woke up every day looking at the sea and admiring all the natural beauty around me. Having a room to myself with a wonderful king bed was divine. My nights have never been so good! I can't wait to go back and stay longer in this paradise!

Bill and Louise are lovely hosts and will make you feel so welcomed! Occasionally we will all have a meal together with a good conversation. The work itself is easy enough, just basic housekeeping and cleaning, and the hours are respected. I personally didn't love the lack of a dryer for the linens but that was easy enough to get around with heaps of washing lines and a nearby laundromat. The volunteer rooms are massive and so comfy, and Aberystwyth is a gorgeous place with tons of walks, and the ocean right on your doorstep!

Bill and Louise are incredible hosts. They are completely different from each other, but you will be able to adapt quickly. Bill is extremely spontaneous and sometimes a bit disorganized. Louise, on the other hand, is very organized and meticulous. Although, both will always be available to help, no matter what the problem is. The tasks can be simple and repetitive, but there is always something different to do if you get bored of the housekeeping tasks. Your level of responsibility will be matched with your level of commitment. Keep an open mind and be prepared to exercise your adaptability.

Time flying. The Louise and Bill hosts are great, very communicative and always have a very good disposition. They always respect your schedule and you have a private room, large and with good views of the town. Aberystwyth is a beautiful place, it is surrounded by nature and you can walk and get to know all its surroundings. I will definitely be back one day, you miss the meals with everyone together at the table sharing good conversations and good energies. I miss you guys❤️❤️
