The experience

Brynawel is a large house located close to Aberystwyth town centre, just a 7-minute walk from the train and bus stations. The building has five self-contained studio flats (each with a small kitchen and private bathroom) and one en-suite room. We host guests from all over the world through Booking.com, and we take pride in keeping the place clean, organised and welcoming.

What you offer

24 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Administration: Help with booking systems and payments.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

What you get

1 day off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 60 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

We’re looking for volunteers to help with cleaning and keeping the property tidy, ideally for longer stays.
We also have a hostel called Toad Hall in Machynlleth (around 50 minutes away by bus), where we also need extra help. They will have a private room with double bed and shared kitchen.

Activities & Shift

- Clean rooms after check-outs (usually after 11am);
- Keep common areas tidy;
- Help with general organisation;
- Sometimes assist at Toad Hall (with notice).

Workload: 24h per week
Day off: 1 day (flexible with notice)
