Help with building a makerspace

The eco village is a place you should visit without overthinking it, because whatever you imagine will be completely different from reality. It's a huge space, full of new experiences and learning opportunities. The work you can do there ranges from everyday tasks like cleaning or organizing to maintenance projects. The experience itself is incredible, and the atmosphere is an adventure of its own. If you enjoy the peace of the forest, swimming in the lake, making new friends, and discovering new things, the eco village is for you!

The eco village is a nice place, in the middle of a forest. A lot of time to connect with nature, but also not so far from the capital. The hours and jobs were easy and flexible and the hosts and people who work there are all very kind.

The max length is too small here. Please contact me for the full story. + Building was amazing + I had the best time with the other volunteers + Staff I worked with (Mari and Hanna) was lovely - Work had nothing to do with "building a makerspace" (the title of this) - Work hours not very flexible - Owners had communication issues and blamed it all on them being Finnish (this pisses me off as a Finn) - Owners didn't know how to take critique (funny since they are "all about learning") - They kept saying "You are free to leave if you don't like it here" but when I did, they retaliated

My second time in the eco village was a very different experience than the first one. We were less volunteers and there were less events going on. Even though, I also enjoy it a lot and made me grow! I worked cleaning and preparing the future maker space and was amazing to work all together building a new roof for the fireplace. the eco village will be always in my heart, thanks a lot and see you a third time ;)

The eco village was really nice. The place is huge and there is a lot of nature around. It is a little far from the nearest city though, but they have bikes and cars you can ride, and also a lot of people coming and going all the time so you can ask for a ride. The hosts are super friendly and the volunteers were as well. If you don't mind eating vegetarian, I definitely recommend staying some time there.

I had the opportunity to spend a few weeks at the eco village at the end of the summer and it was a great experience. All the people are very nice and I was lucky enough to meet a group of exceptional people who were also volunteers. The facilities are very good and the food is well managed. Torsten, Raisa and all the people working there really made a special place to be in. I'm looking forward to coming back to see the progress in the makerspace and the winter in Finland. Thank you to all the fellow volunteers and artists for bringing us together to share special moments!!

The place was an old sanatorium, restored. I found it very nice, spacious and comfortable. It is surrounded by a forest where you can do different activities such as mushroom picking, walking and even cycling (they lend you a bike). There is also a lake nearby to go swimming (I recommend it). Regarding the work, they keep to the schedules and are very easy to do. You learn many things and they are useful for gaining experience. The people are very kind and have a lot of patience to teach you. Regarding the food, there is always food in the pantry and they usually do the shopping once a week an

The eco village is such an special place! I spent one amazing month doing all kind of tasks: carpintery, breaking walls, cleaning... I had also the chance of being there during a weekend festival, where we all worked together. Apart from that, it is an amazing place for discoveging how is living in a community and the Finnish way of living. I had my own space and, at the same time, I spent an amazing time doing all type of plans with volunteers from all over the world. Lastly, sharing time with the artists of the residence was so inspiring! It was such an amazing experience that I will go back soon

Living at the eco village was a huge experience. It was my first volunteering and it was simply way more than I expected. Even you little bit away from a big city the hosts always try to make the enviroment extremely welcoming, enjoyable and more important of all: friendly. I really liked in volunteering at HubFeenix, vegeterian food is SO GOOD haha, I really liked. And more learning about wood working, local culture, maintance in general, gardening, painting, etc. Other remarkable benefit here is the flexibility that the hosts give to the volunteers. Thank you HubFeenix! Kiitos =)

Well it was great to have you guys. I'm sorry due to my illness i missed our review date. I specifically asked others, and everyone on the team agreed that both of you were very friendly, trustworthy and hard-working, and socially easy going. Please refer hosts to this if needed. Good luck on your journey
