The experience
Nagarjuna KMC welcomes people from all over the UK and beyond. As a household volunteer you will be part of the team whose focus it is to provide the conditions for people to come and relax, enjoy inner peace and learn how to make themselves and others truly happy. Volunteering in household involves preparing rooms for guests within the main building and the stables accommodation, as well as helping in the laundry and with cleaning.
What you offer
30 hours of help per week
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Housekeeping:
Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.
Reception:
Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.
What you get
2 days off per week
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Bikes at your disposal:
You can use our bikes any time you want.
Requirements
Intermediate English
Over 18 years old
Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details
The Spiritual Programme
As a volunteering visitor you are welcome to take part in many of the spiritual activities at Nagarjuna Centre. At present we have daily guided 30 minute meditations as well as evening classes and courses over the weekend.
Activities & Shift
Volunteer 5 days per week with a flexible schedule. You will have two days free each week when you can explore the surrounding area, or just relax in the friendly atmosphere of the centre.
Rules
To maintain a peaceful environment for everyone, we ask that all our volunteers follow some basic principals of living within a Buddhist community, namely; not to drink alcohol, smoke, or eat meat on the premises. We also ask you not to play musical instruments, and to use headphones if listening to music.
