This was my first solo trip. I was nervous and even a little stressed at first, but everything was great. The host was engaging and cared about making the experience a shared one. He communicated respectfully. I was able to immerse myself in the local culture, meet locals and international travelers. Making a real social impact. Learning and having fun.

My experience at Hussein was very enriching. I loved spending days with the children whether at school or outside. Regarding to the school, it is less than 5 minutes walk from the accommodation so it is very convenient to get there. The teachers at school are very kind, caring with a big heart. I was very well received. The children are adorable, smiling and and very intelligent. Regarding Hussein, he is an extremly kind and caring person, he was always there for any need or question I had. He talked to me and taugh me a lot about their culture.

Family is not always based on blood. It's by heart. Divine was not only a volunteer but also a family to the large population of children and host. A heart of gold she possesses and this has led her to go the extra mile to mobilize resources and support the less fortunate children in our care. His support has been beyond measure.

Divine stayed and worked with us here during her volunteer time. She is a dedicated and disciplined person who did everything she could to change the lives of poor children. She helped teach indoors and outdoors. She was loved by children, teachers and the community at large because of her good behavior.
Divine, we love you so much and really miss you. We hope that one day you will come back. Welcome to your home in Tanzania at any time πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ώ.

We miss the fun, the jokes, the laughter, the dancing and sharing meals together. You left indelible memories. You have a place in our hearts.
WE LOVE YOU DIVINE

Hello, my experience lasted a month and it was the most beautiful adventure ever. I had the pleasure of staying with the host who was always available, kind and ready to any need from the beginning and for this reason it has also established a very friendly relationship. I also had the pleasure of meeting many people and volunteers from different parts of the world, there was a real cultural exchange!! I volunteered at a children's school where I taught basic English and it was beautiful!! I recommend to everyone this experience, which changes you in a positive way! Thanks Hussein, Pole Pole

The school madame Malaika runs is a lovely place with lovely children. But I have already reported Spice's negligent behaviour (including ignoring a volunteer's messages the organization whe was in hospital during two days, and low-key sexual harrassment to all her female volunteers) to the platform. If you are looking for a volunteer program, there are certainly more serious ones. Run away from this, or you may regret it.

I stayed with hussein unfortunately just for a few days. I left because I didn't feel well and just couldn't live under these circumstances. I didn't expected the place I stayed at to be like this. So it's absolutely not his fault that I left. Hussein was a great host even for just a few days, he was really kind and helped me in every possible way I am still very grateful for this experience and I loved the kids a lot and the teachers at the school a lot they were really nice to me from the start and took good the organization me.

My experience at school was great!! The children are very affectionate and loving. The teachers and the director are also very good. Anda for my experience in the house, it was a little hard because there was a lack of communication with Hussein, equal treatment between all people.

I really enjoyed the four weeks I stayed at spices place. He is a friendly, heartwarming and caring person. Through him I learned a lot about the tanzanian culture and their everyday life. The volunteerwork at the school was awesome as well. I could help the organization the kids at writing, reading, english and math. Other days I helped with decorating a new classroom and I could draw pictures and shapes, which they'll use for the organization. The school is close to the house, only a 5 minute walk and the area is safe to walk alone. This whole experience was amazing, I'm definitely gonna miss this place!

For me the experience was not ok. It is not part of the school project, it only directs volunteers to work. Most of the things he describes in the vacancy don't exist: the laundry room is you washing clothes by hand in a basin, the house I stayed in was far from the school and I had to take the bus daily paying for myself and him, it is described 15 hours, but I stayed much longer than that, I paid for all the tours for myself and him. Unfortunately I gave up after 1 week as it was impossible to continue.
