The experience
I'm Winny Auma a young woman residing in Oyugis near lake Victoria in kenya. I'm an organic and permaculture agricultural lover. I rare animals and grow various annual crops for food. My family banks all its hopes on agriculture. Being an Island, we are surrounded with water and hence most of the times we use lake water for irrigation. We welcome all interested volunteers from all over the world to join in our small farm.
What you offer
18 hours of help per week
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Gardening:
Help grow plants and cultivate gardens
Building & Repairing:
Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
Farming:
Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.
What you get

Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Program Details

ACCOMMODATION
Guests will get full boarding facilities and stay with host families from the local community, based in a tranquil, rural environment. Each guest will have their own bed, but may share a room if belongs to the same gender or if are couples, Different gender stay in different rooms. Each of the clean and well spread beds, should have a mosquito net.
MEALS
Volunteers will share meals with host families where they will be served with three meals a day that is breakfast, lunch and supper. Breakfast will be served before the day’s work starts at 8 am or not later than 9am with tea, local snacks and fruits. Lunch and supper will be served on time too with a variety of local dishes
Activities & Shift
VOLUNTEERS' TASKS ON ORGANIZATION'S NEEDS:Volunteers will participate in projects of their choice that serve the local community and at their wish, the work schedule is always prepared together after the arrival of the volunteers.Volunteer are expected to take only three to four hours at work for three or five days in a week he or she has the freedom to choose where and when to do the work, and when not to do a task, there are many means of transport available to travel from one location to the other and even out of the Island.1. Get involved in helping our community garden organic and permaculture agriculture with the purpose of helping the general needy community2. Get involved in helping Women and Youths' group activities with the purpose of helping our local needy women3. If knowledgeable get involved in helping Community health care activities like working in clinic and community
