My time at Jana's was so lovely. Firstly, the place is beautiful. It's in a gorgeous location with nice bedrooms and a nice kitchen which is super refreshing as a backpacker. Jana has such a beautiful connection with her animals and it makes you feel inspired to help. The animals are so cute, I especially loved sharing my room with a rescue kitten and always having animals around. You mostly work early in the morning and have the whole day to yourself to explore Hvar. I really admire Jana's dedication to animals and it made the work not feel like work. I would recommend spending time here.

Volunteering at the shelter farm was a great experience! It was beautiful to see how deeply Jana cares for her animals and the level of commitment she has. I learned a lot and met other wonderful travelers. We volunteered in the morning and got to explore Hvar island after. Highly recommend!

Jana was a great host. Loved every minute staying there. I'd recommend it to any travellers. The work fly's by and then you have the whole day to explore the island. The donkeys are great and it's a lovely facility

I loved my time here! Jana was so welcoming and nice and all the other volunteers were friendly too! The rooms were amazing and the kitchen has everything you could need. The work was easy and only 3 hours a day so you have the whole day to do whatever you want after. I loved all the animals and Jana was the best host, I hope I can come back in the future and stay even longer next time! I'd definitely recommend this experience for any animal lovers!

Living with Jana, and all the adorable animals was one of the best projects I ever experienced! Not only Jana is absolute heart of gold, and a wonder woman, but also all the animals are the cuddliest one you will stumble upon. Her home feels like love. You are surrounded with nature, and get to experience living in authentic Dalmatian house. We had opportunity to help with taking kittens to the vet, painting some furniture, and general cleaning. All of the tasks were nice, and easy to do. I would go back in a heartbeat, and probably will do so. 10/10 recommend!

Jana is a beautiful soul that will make you feel very welcome. I had my own room with an ensuite which was amazing. The work can be labour intensive but the hours are very fair. The closest town is a 30 minute walk so be prepared for plenty of walking. 10/10 would recommend.

My time at Jana's is indescribable. She is the most wonderful host and person and I wouldn't have changed a thing about my stay! You only work 3 hours a day where you either bring water or hay to the donkeys, sand and print windows and doors etc. It's a wonderful place to live - with private rooms and bathrooms in a little village. I would truly recommend going to Stari Grad and be a volunteer at Jana's to anyone!

This was an experience of a lifetime that I will cherish forever! Jana's property was beautiful and I truly felt at home! Spacious and private rooms, kitchen facilities were great and the communal areas around the entire property were amazing! The work was what was advertised and always something a little different! Jana was lovely and you can see that she has so much love for her animals and their welfare! There is plenty of freedom to explore the island of Hvar, become a local in the village or just relax on the absolutely gorgeous property! I highly recommend this volunteering experience!

Jana's the shelter experience was fantastic! From organising another volunteer to meet us at the Port, to giving us a detailed layout of the area and opening up her home to volunteers, you feel at home. Her love for her animals is unmatched, so if you want to help feed the donkeys, walk them in the nearby hills or learn to take care of cats, you can try that here! 3 hours of work/day is all that is asked; generally including watering/maintaining the garden, filling water and hay bags, sanding/painting projects etc. (if you have bad hay fever, you will struggle). Accommodation is perfect!
