Join us in empowering our community's women and children!
The experience
I am David Nina aged 34yrs and I have a project in my maasai community that is titled Elong'o Eretoto meaning a shield to protect. To elaborate, I am against early marriages and fgm among girls and I support widows and orphans in the community. I want to host volunteers who are willing to join me in making this a success for the benefit of the community and not for my personal interest. *Click on learn more for more information*

Program Details
When volunteers are present at my site, I will give a summary of my project and after, we will schedule the program depending on how long the volunteer will stay in my place.
I am the founder and director of this project in my Maasai community here in kisamis kajiado west, and I am very open and honest with my helpers.
This project's objectives are:
1. To rescue girls from early marriages.
2. To finish FGM practices among girls.
3. To help the widows and orphans
4. To construct a jewellery shop for beadwork made by local women and look for an online market for jewellery.
5. DIY project.
I have social work skills that I learned from people around me and volunteers that I have hosted so far. They come from many countries, so I've learned that there are vegetarians and those who eat almost everything. So, regardless of where you come from, we are sure we can arrange what what you need.
Activities & Shift
The main task for my volunteers is to help with construction, cooking, teaching, helping with computers and the internet, teaching and many other activities.
Volunteers will work for at least 3hrs a day for three days and have offs for two days. Shift hours are for hiking and leisure visiting the old people in the community around.
I expect cooperation from my volunteers and people who will hold my hand to walk towards achieving our goals. I am very willing to teach volunteers the Maasai language, and culture and show them how to make jewellery from beads. I will also take them through experiencing a stay or bonfire 🔥 at night. Apart from personally guiding my volunteers, I have other guides and Moran who are very good at guiding. They walk with volunteers teaching them a lot they meet at hiking and at different environments outside of the project site.
Rules
Volunteers are free to do all they need
**I so far don't have tents, therefore I allow volunteers to come with them to my place since I have a big fenced compound where tents can be mounted without any interruption.**
