The experience

Do you have experience cooking vegetarian meals for large groups (15-40 people)? Join us in the jungle for community immersion.

We have 2-3 shared meals a day in our large community kitchen, and we switch shifts for cooking. Duties include:

- Keeping track of the kitchen items and ordering water and food to make sure there's always enough of what we need.
- Planning well-balanced vegetarian meals
- Cooking delicious dishes for large groups

What you offer

15 hours of help per week

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Amount: MXN$ 800 Per week

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Yoga classes: Take free yoga classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Requirements

Beginner Spanish or Beginner English

Between 18 and 40 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

We are only looking for people with lots of energy, enthusiasm and initiative to create an amazing community atmosphere. We are open to people who have special skills to occupy this full time volunteer position of main chef, which includes free veg food and accommodation. There may be spaces for cook assistant as well.

We usually prefer people who prefer longer stays...

If you prefer to stay in our premier lodging, you will be asked to pay for the accommodation, but at a discounted price.

Activities & Shift

3 hours a day will be divided into overseeing meal planning and cooking, cleaning as well as place orders for food and water.

Rules

Meals are vegan and vegetarian and we ask not to bring or cook any non-vegetarian products. No alcohol please.
