The hostel is definitely the best voulenteering I've done so far. Erika-san and Umi-san are really lovely hosts. The work is easy, the area is super beautiful and there is a lot to explore around the city. The food is super delicious and you got 2 onsen and a river to swim. Thank you very much for welcoming me in your home :)

I absolutely loved my time at the hostel and am sad to go! Erika and Ooumi are very sweet and genuine people and it felt like I was truly welcomed into their family. Their home, hostel, and pub are very beautiful and so is the surrounding town. Hiwasa is quiet and calm with wonderful forests, mountains, and rivers all around it. Not to mention the ocean is a short walk away. I'd definitely recommend their hostel to people looking for a casual, local experience, surrounded by nature.

This was AWESOME! Erika and Umi are great people! I really enjoyed my time here. They are amazing, communicative, and very helpful. Everything was very organized, and I never had any unanswered questions about the work — everything was clearly explained. Working with them was a great experience. I got to try many Japanese dishes, all homemade — which was even better than eating at restaurants, since they're both amazing cooks! Hiwasa is peaceful and beautiful, with stunning nature and many great spots to enjoy it. I highly recommend this place for a cozy and fulfilling experience.

Volunteering at the hostel was the highlight of my trip in Japan so far. The surroundings are beautiful, the tasks asked well explained and with a lot of feedback, and the lunch awesome! I had the chance to help at the cocktail bar (which is definitely worth hanging out if you want to meet some locals and try your Japanese). Thank you for everything Erika-San, Umi-Sensei, またね!!

I had such an amazing time at the hostel! Hiwasa is a charming town surrounded by beautiful scenery. Erika and Umi were so welcoming and generous, it immediately felt like home. The work itself was very straightforward and was always followed by a tasty and nutritious lunch. We were able to use the bikes and borrow their car to explore neighbouring towns, hikes and beaches in Shikoku. It may seem like a quiet town, but there was so much to do and time flew by. Surfing was definitely a highlight! I wish I could have stayed longer, I would 100% recommend! Thank you so much Erika and Umi!!

The month I spent volunteering at the hostel is going to forever hold a very special place in my heart. Erika and Umi are two of the most wonderful, fun, kind, and amazing people you will ever meet. Not to mention how great their cooking is! The work is easy and the hours are very generous, leaving you with plenty of time to explore If you like to get out of the busy citiy and spend time in the mountains to hike, at the beach to swim and surf, or if you just want to live a simple and slow lifestyle for a while, this is the place for you. The surrounding nature is absolutely incredible

The 4 weeks I volunteered at the hostel went by so fast. I left wishing I could stay a little longer! the hostel is really cute, cozy, and comfortable, with a nice “homey” feel. It's well taken care of, and it feels great to help keep it running. The hosts are really nice, and I felt like we could be friends if we lived in the same city =) And they welcome you in the best way: with food! Hiwasa is small but very charming, and Shikoku really surprised me, it's a beautiful island! I totally recommend volunteering at the hostel.

Helping out at the hostel was a fun & relaxing experience. The work at the hostel is very reasonable & straight forward, & both Umi & Erika are amazing people & chefs! Hiwasa is a quite costal town with friendly locals and great food. During my days off, I enjoyed exploring the coastline, river & surfing with Umi. Thanks again Umi & Erika for your flexibility & generosity. I hope to see you, Akane, Nato & Bibi again one day.

The hostel in Hiwasa felt like home. Erika and Umi welcomed us volunteers into their adorable family, including their two cute kitties. Their exceptional hospitality and genuine care made our stay special. We shared delicious meals, great conversations, and cultural exchanges. the hostel's cool vibes and perfect location offered endless adventures, from cycling and relaxing by the river to enjoying the beach, engaging with the local community, and joining fun festivities. Meeting and socialising with guests from around the world was amazing. Thank you, the hostel!

Erika and Umi have set the bar high for what a volunteer experience should be. They are both very kind and welcoming and make sure that volunteers are having a good time. There was plenty of opportunity to do activities in my free time like surfing and biking around town. I've enjoyed the moments of both relaxing and hanging out together and enjoyed all the meals we had together and talking about many things. Hiwasa is a very charming town so if you are looking for a peaceful place with nature all around then is the spot. I will definitely return on my next trip to Japan. Thank you the hostel!
