The experience
Volunteering at our NGO is a very rewarding experience. The interactions you will have with the students, friendships you will form, and the appreciation you receive are something that you will never forget. Volunteering as a teacher often boosts your own confidence and it transforms your character in so many other ways.
What you offer
30 hours of help per week
Teaching Languages:
Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.
What you get
2 days off per week
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Yoga classes:
Take free yoga classes at our place.
Requirements
Fluent English
Over 18 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers
What's not included
Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa
Program Details
Teach English, Portuguese or Korean using our "language curriculum".
Volunteers don’t require any teaching experience or background.
Volunteers must be able to:
a) communicate in English;
b) Strong interest in teaching.
c) Willing to live in rural settings.
d) Confident, flexible, responsible and motivated.
e) High levels of integrity and solid moral behavior.
f) Open to learning from new environments.
g) Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
h) Demonstrate interest in education, NGO work and poverty alleviation issues.
FOOD & ACCOMMODATION
We provide food and accommodation for our volunteers.
Food: for breakfast we provide porridge and for lunch and dinner we provide rice-meals.
Accommodation: Our volunteers usually share a room with an attached bathroom.
Activities & Shift
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) planning and preparing classes;
b) for Language Teaching, using the materials provided by the NGO;
c) teach according the educational needs of the students;
d) setting and marking of work to be carried out in and out of class;
e) assess and report the development, progress, and attainment of students;
f) for Vocational Skill Teaching: transfer skills to students through practice-based activities.
WORKING DAYS AND HOURS
1. The organization practices a 5-6 day work week with 6-8 hours of service per day (excluding lunch break).
