The experience

We are looking for volunteers that love nature and have experience living outside the city in an area surrounded by forest.
The ideal person enjoys feeding chickens, dogs and cats.
Caring for plants and keeping the space organized.
Food preparation is shared, as is cooking and cleaning dishes.
Volunteers are provided with basic ingredients such as grains, pasta, seasonings and oil, and vegetables.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Permaculture Course: Take part in our Permaculture course for free.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Beginner Spanish or Beginner English

Between 20 and 45 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

We give a tour of the property, which includes a 10-hectare forest. We explain the history of the project, our relationship with the surrounding communities, the best ways to get to and from the project, and we introduce them to the local people who work with us.
Respect for the customs and traditions of Indigenous communities is important, and the local people are also very friendly to outsiders.


Activities & Shift

A typical day begins at 7 AM. Interested volunteers start the tasks we have previously agree, in case they want our feedback we evaluate together the most practical ways to accomplics their project.
Taking into account that there are months of the year when it is very hot. We prefer to work early in the morning or at dusk when the sun is not as intense.
For those without experience, we instruct them on how to use the tools to avoid injury and make any task easier.


Rules

Pets are not allowed -we love them but we have enough for your enjoyment-.
Wash the bed linens used during your stay before leaving.
Keep the kitchen 100% clean.
No drugs or alcohol are allowed.
We are tobacco-free here and we abide by the new Mexican smoking laws.
Do not bring weapons or sharp objects of any kind.
Respect the surrounding communities.
Remove your non-organic waste.
